Do we still draft a safety with our 2nd rounder?

With the addition of Sensabaugh and now Scandrick playing some "star"..is it safe to say that we won't be picking Delmas or Chung now??

Great post and question. I think it allows us to take literally the best player available. Sure, we still need a ILB,safety, WR, NT, Oline, etc....but we don't have to reach now. I would still vote for safety if those two guys were there. Because then it gives us unbelievable flexibility with scandrick in the slot, etc....But that really depends on which ILB is there at #51 too. I still think we have a real need there too.

i think we still go safety if one of chung, moore or dlemas is there. I think Sensabaugh is a good backup guy, good ST guy but not someone i want to rely on to start.

Plus he's only signed for one yearand we need to look to the future. Killa isnt it, Watkins isnt, Brown isnt, Battle isnt. Hamlin is ok at one spot, Scandrick has the special "star" spot, sliding to nickle CB but IMO we still need a starting SS. Give me Moore, Delmas or Chung.

we can do now what you should do in the draft, draft best player available

best scenario for the cowboys now is to resign burnett some way, then your not reaching at all,

and resign keith davis too, if have to take one, go with keith davis, we need him on special teams and he can help a liittle at safety

In my opinion, the Cowboys will not draft Chung. He's overrated (imo) and dropping. Bunting has dropped Chung to # 77. That is in the third round. Delmas has some concussion issues. However, he plays FS and some team that didn't sign a safety might still draft him in round 2. Bunting has dropped Delmas to #69.

Williams Moore is the wildcard. He ran a 4.49 at his pro day. He's starting to get healthy. I think Dallas would like him over Chung and Delmas. However, I don't know where Dallas would see his value. Bunting llikes Moore and has dropped him to # 67.

The strong safeties should fall in this draft. However, a team like the Patriots, who have three 2nd round picks, may use one on Moore before he falls out of round 2. The Saints and Eagles have spent a lot of time with Moore, too.

Sherrod Martin is rising fast, but many teams view him as a CB in a very weak CB class.

One guy I think is very intriguing is Byrd the CB from Oregon.

IF Scandrick really will be playing the STAR full-time, we need another CB along with Newman and Jenkins and Ball.

I think at 51 he is fair value.

And I think it's easier picking up a quality CB in the 2nd and an additional Safety in the 4th than vice-versa.

Well I like it because we don't have to reach for anyone. If Delmas or Smith are there, great, if not, then we go BPA like Duke Robinson or Nicks/Robiskie. Looks like Gerald is pushing back Scandrick from that "star" postition. Might have him stay in the nickel where he's best IMO

Need to change your mock there DaBoys..:) Let me guess..Jarron Gilbert now? I hope it isn't.

I was thinking Micheal Johnson and I'm bout to update now. I think I may need to go WR though.

I'm really leaning towards a WR now too..Nicks or Robiskie would look awfully tempting..

I always forget Chip Vaugn. He's rated right behind Moore. Bunting has him at number 81. He's faster than Moore. He ran a 4.42, I think.

But Vaughn could be worse than Roy in coverage. Very stiff. And Moore is also poor in coverage (man to man), lacks instincts. Only good when he is playing deep center field.

Pat Chung is the only SS I want that early. Unless Sean Smith falls.

Get off the Vaughn and Moore train please. They have good straightline speed, but terrible game and lateral speed.

I'm thinking not necessarily anymore; which is fine w/ me cuz I prefer a NT w/ our 2nd rounder.....

I wouldn't... I'd draft a safety, but not that early...

Unless William Moore falls that far, I think he might be a good gamble on greatness... but right now, I'd like the Boys to go OL with the 2nd round pick... if either Duke Robinson or Alex Mack fell that far, they'd be perfect for the Boys...

From what I'm reading, my pet cat is falling down the charts, because he's not yet ready to work out after suffering a knee injury... that would be Jonathan Casillas, the 6-1, 225 pound OLB from Wisconsin who runs a sub-4.5 40 when healthy... I think that Casillas' size and speed are reminiscent of a young Darren Woodson (who also made the switch from OLB to S in the pros), and he might even be available in the 5th round, though I'd spend the Boys second 4th rounder on him...

For WR, I'm targeting Jarett Dillard, Quan Cosby or Johnny Knox in the middle rounds... Jarett was a touchdown machine in college, setting an NCAA record for WRs with 60 TDs... Cosby has good speed, is fearless, a willing blocker, and a capable kick returner... Knox is blazing fast, and the Boys can use some more speed at WR...

The common thread with all of them is that they're smaller WRs, with the quickness to play in the slot... the Boys have a ton of big wideouts, it might be advantageous to add a Smurf who can play some...

I'm still trying to decide what I think of this kid. On a scale of David Ball to Jerry Rice, where would I rank him kind of thing.
