Do you agree this is a good test for Jason Garrett?

With Hardy and McClain suspended...

Scandrick out for the season....

Gregory and Bryant going down in game #1...Bryant missing at least half the season...

Romo going down in game #2 and missing at least half the season....

Even if you don't particularly care for Head Coach Jason Garrett....

If the Cowboys can reach the playoffs this season then he deserves Coach of the Year.

Garrett deserved it last season.

Bryant isn't going to miss half the season, fyi. Let's see how it all plays out. We might be able to get to the playoffs at 7-9. I wouldn't crown Garrett coach of the year then.

However if we go 5-2 without Romo and then Romo comes back and we finish 13-3, then heck yeah!

Do you work with blow molds for a living?

Depends. If it's on the back of another 12-4 record, I think he'd make a hell of a case for himself.

If Dallas gets to the playoffs at 9-7, 8-8, or 7-9 because the rest of the NFCE absolutely sucks, I don't think he'll get much consideration.

The team will have to exceed expectations and I don't think any of the defensive players listed above will be given much consideration in terms of deciding whether or not Jason should get the award.

The wins certainly are important but with all those big names out for significant time
and he wins some in the play offs he should be in the discussion like last year.

I was watching the game with my girlfriend and she was really trying to learn the game. It was fun. She was asking a million questions and I was teaching her the game of football. As the game progressed I realized that her first real football game watching experience was one of the worst played, ugliest football game I'd ever seen. Only uphill for her from here. (as long as I hide her from the next 7 games lol)

Yes especially after we win multiple games in January.

Think about this....

You lose your All-Pro RB, the NFL rushing leader, to Free Agency.

Then, in game #1, you lose your All-Pro WR for at least the next 6 games.

In game #2, you lose your Pro Bowl QB, the #1 rated passer from the previous season, for at least the next six games.

If Jason Garrett can overcome this and get the Cowboys to the playoffs then I say he is Coach of the Year, should have been last season.

It is his philosophy that will have prevailed, i.e., the right kind of players, next man up, competition is a critical component, everyone gets a chance, contracts are irrelevant.

If this team gets to the playoffs, Garrett is the coach of the year, no doubt.

To me he is a very good head coach and i am happy that he is our hc. I dont care if he gets any awards.

And no i dont think that situation is a test for him in any way.

I understand what you're asking and yes it is a good test to show how good of a coach he is but I don't think he needs to be tested in the sense that he still has something to prove. He is the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, cut and dry. And I know that's not what you're getting at but I personally wanted to reiterate that.
