Do you Believe in Magic?

If we are to assume that Romo stays healthy, then I concur that we should make the playoffs. Even with the problems on defense.

As far as the Dline I wont argue with you on Adequate or decent. Ill just say that in my opinion our Dline is about as bad as you can get the first 4 games, and then suspect moving forward. As far as the secondary, Ill just say they are nothing to be excited about.

But as you stated, the offense is all world.

True Contender, however, I am not seeing it. I would love to be wrong.

By "True Contender," I assume you mean Super Bowl bound; I'm not ready to give my stamp for that yet either. In fact, I won't feel comfortable talking Super Bowl until after Thanksgiving...and even then the Cowboys would have to be pretty impressive up to that point for that conversation to make any sense.

I think the Dline will surprise people. Not so much in the sense that they come out of nowhere and dominate. No, that's a bit far-fetched. But I do think overall when everything is said and done they will at least be better than league average...and judging by what I've read, heard, and seen from analyst abroad, that would be surprising.

The secondary jump off point for me is "decent." They aren't going to shut anyone down, I'll grant you that. But I do think they will be good enough to slow team's down, which I suspect is all the Cowboys offense is going to need to win most games.

Damn. Clicked on this thinking it was a Game of Thrones thread

LOL the dallas coaches at work !

Really though the magic depends a lot on the coaches, and ol JG, the ingredients are there,
can the coaches cook up the magic??

They did it in 2014 with less talent, in my opinion.

I think Zeke is going to have a historic rookie season for the ages.

I agree, 2014 we lost Lee for the season. Mincey was the leading sack man and secondary with BJ at safety I think the unit will be as good as 14 and hopefully better once Gregory and Lawrence returns.

No leap in thinking that at all. From top to bottom as of right now this roster look's more talented than 2014's, imo.

Define "historic." Are you saying record setting? As in, beating Eric Dickerson's record? If so, I'm divided. I'd love to see the Cowboys take another league record, but if Zeke does that it could possibly mean that the Cowboys coaches misused him...and this is why we can't have nice things.

I'm talking about impact. He won't get the carries that Dickerson got, thankfully.

He'll just make this offense a bigger hitter. If healthy, the Cowboys will be relatively impossible to defend.

Agreed.

They did, but in playoffs there was a drop off in coaching, just my take on it.
They have enough talent, so it is up to how they use it, game planning, play calling, use of personnel etc.

My main take on 2014 in terms of coaching gaffes was how they over-used Demarco. By the playoffs he wasn't the same player he was at the beginning of the season. Hopefully, they have learned from that and don't intend on doing the same thing to Zeke.

I didn't see that. Coaching didn't make Demarco fumble on a TD run, and it didn't overturn an obvious catch by Dez in the end.

Murray had a broken hand and was wore down, randle was fresh, so they should have played him in the playoffs.
Tony throwing to dez, on that play was not the smart call.
They should have ran the ball from a passing formation.

true, and they should have went to randle, with murray having the broken hand, and he had fumbles with 2 good hands.
4 th and 2 do you run or pass ??
they should have ran from a pass formation, I hate the jumbo.

Garrett should have sat the top rusher in the NFL in the playoffs? And Romo audibled to that throw to Dez, and it worked perfectly.
