Do You believe this team can win the super bowl?

it's amazing to re-visit this thread and see so many people predicting the OL will be our undoing. As optimistic as Jerry Jones ALWAYS is, I think he has to be beat over the head for it to sink in about the OL. And I think an even GREATER effort will be given next offseason to fix it. The OL was a problem when we lost in the playoffs to Minnesota a couple of years ago...and here we sit...in the prime of Romo's career...and we are still lamenting the OL. But because I know this going into the season...I don't think it will drive me nuts when I see this team unravel because of untimely poor OL play. Someone remind me I said this when I have a mid year meltdown reagarding this OL:)

Absolutely....any given year. In reality the OL (as many have mentioned) will be the deciding factor.

Not quite ready for prime time, the rams were a horrible team to have our dress rehearsal against. The east will be a slugfest. If we make the play-offs I'll be happy.

No.

I have been burnt too many times the last decade thinking the team has turned it around.

Now they have to prove it to me...they have to earn my trust so to speak.

hater :)

That is about how I feel at this point as well. However, almost any team can win the super bowl if they make it to the playoffs and I do think this team has improved enough and is going in the right direction that they have a better chance of making the playoffs this year.

this post sums up how i feel about the team

If they can get hot in Decemeber then yes. If they just barely get in the playoffs then I doubt it.

Nope. This would be the worst offensive line in Super Bowl history.

But we're on the right track.....finally.

Not even close to the worst. Pittsburgh a couple of years ago was just as bad.

Simple yes or no question do you believe this team has what it takes to win a Super Bowl?

I do. :D

Absolutely not. The Oline flat out sucks and bringing in some clowns that have never done anything will not change that. We have no center. The safeties are suspect at best. The D-line does not create pressure and our best D-lineman is hurt again. Our fragile WR's are incapable of playing an entire season.

It would take a series of miracles to win the Super Bowl.

But I will watch every minute just like I have for the last 30 years.

No it wasn't. It was bad, but not this bad.

Now, by December we'll see. Doug Free looks lost, and Bernadeux and Costa have a lot to prove. Even Smith is struggling because he's never played left tackle before (he was a RT in college).

I am really tired of getting disappointed. A nice effort last year against Tampa got me wondering for a week if they would get on a roll and make a run in the playoffs, but they had the same old story-too many mistakes.

Having said that, if not now, when?

Believe it or not, I am fine with some of these injuries. I am OK with people sitting for a few weeks into the season even. Particularly the receivers. Tony is going to get his numbers...Getting some fresh legs and extra motivation to make up for lost time would be a nice shot in the arm further into the season-particularly Rat and Jenks.

Now is the part of the season to be hopeful.

Yes!

I haven't read any posts yet, just wanted to respond while I have time. will read later.

I'm sure many will say no, due to OL, injuries, etc.

It's not how they start, it's how they finish [so cliche']. :laugh2:

Anyway, we haven't sufferd any major injuries to key players, al should be back by 2nd or 3rd game. The OL will need time to gel, just a little more time now without having that time in TC. I think people will be pleasantly surprised at their play this year. Maybe not a fantastic OL, but they will get the job done.

Romo looked great with 2nd team WR's, TE's, with the OL less Costa...the OL had to had a little something to do with that.

Defense just plain simply better across the board going into the 2nd year of Ryan's defense.

Coaching staff improved, Garrett will show to improve.

And we still have the best looking cheerleaders in the league!!!!!

The Cowboys beat one team with a winning record last year.

One team.

They've got to show me something first.

well, it would be silly to say that this team has 0 chance. when you have a solid QB, and at least a respectable defense which i think it's fair to say, then you have a chance. but i wouldn't give them more than, say, a 5% chance of winning the super bowl this year. they'd need a lot of breaks to go their way.

after so much underachievement by this core group (which has very much dwindled from the '07 team, but our team leaders are still here - Garrett, Romo, Ware, Witten, Ratliff), they are gonna have to show me something for me to believe they have a good chance at a super bowl win.

certainly an nfc championship game appearance would do it, but even a solid performance in a divisional round loss would really get me hyped about the garrett era and this team's super bowl hopes.
