Do You believe this team can win the super bowl?

Yes...actually I believe this team can win it every year. Everyone has to remember this team usually loses games late in games. We could have easily been 13-3 last year instead of 8-8. We were about 5 plays from being 13-3. I believe the defense if much improved, and the offensive line can't be as bad as it was last year. Also, before Murray went out, the team was on a winning streak. It ended with his injury. I believe we will get better WR play from Dez, better fullback production, better #2 TE in the passing game, better LT play (back in 09 Free play RT really well in place of Colombo & I still wonder to this day why we didn't start Free in that playoff loss to the viqueens), better ILB play, a healthy rotation of effective Dlinemen, and much better secondary play. If we can get above average play from the interior oline, we will win the Super Bowl!!!!!!!!!

come on 13-3.. really? Last years teams was not any good... We were an 8-8 team for a reason.. Come on people.. Please use your heads..

No.

I think they need to be better up front on both sides of the ball.

Yes and I'll tell you why.

I see the Cowboys in many ways mirroring the 2010 Packers in the following ways:
  • Elite QB (and remember Aaron Rodgers wasn't considered elite until 2011)
  • Uber-talented secondaries. They had a younger Woodson, emerging Tramon Williams, Nick Collins, and a top shelf nickle corner in Sam Shields. Cowboys have Carr, Claiborne, Jenkins, Scandrick, and Sensy.
  • Top notch receiving corps -- Packers will Jennings/Driver/Jones/Nelson (no Finley -- he was on IR) and the Cowboys Dez/Austin/Witten/hopefully somebody else
  • Good pass rushes that started with dominant OLBs - For the Packers Clay Matthews was runner up for Defensive MVP in 2010 and Ware basically leads the league every year in sacks.
In many way those key ingredients align. In my mind the one thing that still has to fall in place in that Garrett has to finally become a Sean Payton/Mike McCarthy type of offensive head coach -- 3-4 years ago he was mentioned with those two as the top offensive minded coaches in the league but I haven't quite seen it happen yet. If JG can take the next step as a coach, the Cowboys have a very good chance of winning it.

Simple yes or no question do you believe this team has what it takes to win a Super Bowl?

I do. :D

Yes. They've had what it takes to win SB since 2006. And I believe they have more of what it takes this season than any of the past 6.

Absolutely not. Best case scenario is compete in playoffs this year. Hope that we are year 2 of 3 as others have said...highly doubt it as far as that being the plan.

If a 9-7 Giants team that got blown out 49-24 by the Saints can win the Super Bowl, why can't the Cowboys?

Because of what is between their ears.

This is the same idiocy that Jerry always spouts. We are not built like Coughlin's Giants and have not played like them in win-or-go-home contests.

As long as Tony Romo is here, we are in play to win the Super Bowl. We've got a 4-6 year window.

Yes.

Tough call, sadly.

Both O and D fronts aren't great, but the big problem to me is the number of penalties and players not knowing plays! People here keep pointing to the improvements from last year, but other teams improved too, some more so like the eagles. The offensive line looks bad...and it's just pre-season, what'll happen when teams game plan and prepare more than just vanilla looks on D?

All that being said, Romo, DeMarco Murray, the WR corps and the D-secondary are looking awesome and that's where my hopes lay.

Yes! We will be in it!

Not unless they pick up a better caliber center than Arkin. I have nothing against the guy long term, but Costa is not healthy, and Arkin should not be starting.

Anything's possible with lots of luck in terms of avoiding injuries but if anything is likely to put the kabosh on our SB aspirations, it could easily be the lack of backup strength on the offensive line.

I'd say they are in the top half of the league, as far as odds are concerned....maybe top ten even. While they still have quite a few more questions to answer, I feel a little better about this team than what I did 2 games ago.

no! o-line will kill this teams chances to do anything i believe we will not make the playoffs.

@Anj113....13-3 yes really..we went on our losing streak when Murray went down..patriots should have been a win..jets should have been a win..detroit should have been a win..giants first game should have been a win..cardinals should have been a win..so there u have it..I watch every game..every play..I bet u are one of those ppl who thinks Romo isn't any good..considering the fact we only had 5 rushing TDS, Murray didn't play in the last 4 games & Romo was sacked 19 times in December alone & we only lost 3 games out of 8 by more than 7 pts..those other 5 loses we lost with the lead going into the last 3 to 4 minutes in the game..again we were in & should have won those games..
