Do you fear a Giants superpower rising in the East?

We got a glimpse of it Sunday, whether you like it or not.

Jaxson Dart super star stud QB with moxie for the Big Apple.- Hollywood looks and a tad arrogant- tough too.

Cam Skatteboo - a guy we should’ve drafted a guy everybody in America lives, including people who play against them they recognize he’s a baller.

Malik Nabers - potential superstar wide receiver in the ilk of CeeDee Lamb.

Abdul Carter - should be on the level of Parsons at some point.

A very solid defense upfront, especially the defense of line pretty good linebackers.

An emerging offensive line with all the best left tackles in all the football.

A plethora of high draft picks this year, including the number five overall.

A new coaching staff on the way they’re probably gonna get somebody good this time even if it’s Mike McCarthy don’t forget he wins any wins. Big win totals during the season 12 wins is light work for him.

Philadelphia is about to take a step back. There were a bit of a smoke mirrors team anyway Washington is a mess and the Cowboys are a mess.

I feel like our window is closing again.
It would not surprise me to see them in the playoffs next year

They will pass us if dart is legit it’s not if but when.

We’ll be 4th in the division. And Dak is a free agent in a year or two which means we’ll eventually need to find another young qb. We wasted year after year while
The division surpassed us.

The giants and eagles have won super bowls and gone through 2 separate rebuilds before we even went to one.

Naw I’m saying what grade would you give Jerry if he made those same moves Howie made?
I'd like to give him a decent grade, but the same moves made by Roseman are more effective with his team because he's more concerned with filling holes for depth than we are. Roseman's moves are more effective for his team because his team has a better roster to start with. We don't have two studs at DB or an all-pro at LB. Jerry has less room for error, but I give Jerry credit for doing what he could to shore up the D-line. I really think Eberbum could have done more with the lesser talent we had. I know we lack talent on the defense, but almost 30 points a game bad?? Jerry did the right move by firing him quickly.

No im saying based on the moves and transactions made in 2025 what grade would you give Jerry if he made the same moves as Howie.
You’re being intentionally dishonest with the moves Howie made to make them sound worse.

Every GM in the NFL makes a ton of moves that don’t work out every year. Howie’s job is not to be perfect. Do you remember Parris Campbell? Yeah Jerry traded for Pickens but he also signed Parris Campbell to a dud deal so those balance each other out right? Of course they don’t.

Howie signing a bunch of guys to near vet minimum to be the 53rd guy on the roster or trading a 7th in 2026 for somebody doesn’t impact anything if they don’t work out. You know we get all the money back when a player retires right? It ends up as if it didn’t happen.

So the moves that actually affected anything on that list you made are slim and none. Unless you want to discuss how Payton Turner derailed the Cowboys’ 2025 season.

All I asked was what grade would you give Howie and Jerry. I’d give Jerry a C+ or B-. And yes that factors in him signing Payton Turner lol.

Jerry signed the single worst coordinator in the national football league to completely derail your season. Getting Kenny Clark or Quinnen Williams or even an All-Pro Pickens didnt even matter for how bad his D Coordinator hire ruined your playoff chances. Patullo is bad, but overall we had a middling offense. Jerry’s DC gave up 500 points. You should be a 12-13 win team right now with that offense if Jerry didn’t pick the worst guy he possibly could have. And the fact that Jerry picked him before Schottenheimer makes it so much worse, because it was all on the GM. With Patullo it was partly the HC’s fault.

Like I said, not all transactions are equal. You can’t give that a B or a C. He ruined a playoff season in 1 move. We knew he was bad before you hired him

They’ll eventually bounce back, especially if they hire a strong coaching staff, but I doubt they’ll ever turn into a true superpower. They’re 22–45–1 over Schoen’s four seasons, which ranks sixth worst in the NFL during that span, and yet they’re still bringing him back after this season.

From what I understand, the Giants also suffer from the same issue as the Cowboys when it comes to front-office nepotism. John Mara’s brother, Chris Mara, is a senior player personnel executive, and their nephew was recently promoted to director of player personnel.

1 - Our window closed over 10 years ago.

2 - If you really feel that way about the Giants, I have a inside track on a bridge for sale in NY that I'll let you in on, Hit me up via PM for a deal of a lifetime.

I disagree. Eberflus was a bad higher. Yes. But I’m not gonna scapegoat him for why the season went bad because there were games the offense didn’t do their job. If not for hiring Eberflus I’d give him a higher grade. But because he did hire Eberflus and a few of the minor moves like Elam and Turner falling flat I give him a B- or C +

I give Howie a C-. Last year I would’ve give him a A.

In the games the offense didn’t do their job, whose fault was that? Who picked the HC who had never called plays before? Who drafted Guyton, didn’t bring in a worth swing tackle to challenge him, and thought Steele was fine to leave at RT? Who paid Bland and stuck with Diggs despite everyone knowing he was a goner? Trading away Micah a week before the season was not a minor move. Yeah some draft picks may work out 3-4 years from now, but for 2025 that was a huge loss. Paying Osa in hindsight was a bad move because you’ve got 3 20m+$ DTs now and he’s easily the least worth it. Not only did he not play like a 20m$ player, but keeping all 3 won’t be sustainable. Do you have to jettison Clark to make up for the Osa mistake? Or do you just cut your losses with what his cap hit ends up being in 2026 or 2027?

The problem with this exercise is Jerry has his fingerprints on the team more than any other GM. The head coaches and coordinators are his underlings unlike any other team. And 2025 was marred with bad decisions. There should be no reason that 17 games of Dak Prescott equates to the same number of wins as 2024. But Jerry found a bunch of reasons. It was never just Eberflus; He was just the worst one.

We've witnessed 2 Philly Super Bowl wins and Detroit/Washington making it to the NFC Conference Championship Game. Nothing can hurt me at this point. I actually am expecting the Giants to finally rise again after pretty much doing nothing since their 2011 Super Bowl.

I hope the Giants can become a better team because it would only further expose the Joneses football incompetence. That might force Jerry to try a different path…..maybe :muttley:
