Do you feel the cowboys have something to prove

Every team not named Green Bay does.

Every year, every team is rebuilding. Even the Super Bowl champions. They draft new players. Never in History have the exact same players for any team been the same in consecutive years.

Just some truths.

Of course. On a personal level, I have to believe that even though a lot of them are millionaires, they want to prove that they aren't a 6 win team.

If they don't feel that way, then I'm watching the wrong sport.

Any proud franchise that has deteriorated to "joke" status has something to prove,,, they need to become competitive and then contenders,,,

Yes.

No. Last season, each member of the team helped place themselves in that early deep hole and half-climbed their way out of it.

If Jason Garrett's approach to the game is any indication, this season will be about focusing on the goals which every team should strive for: regular season success, reaching the postseason and outperforming the best of the best remaining. 2010 will not be forgotten, but 2011 holds the promise for higher achievement. I highly doubt Garrett will allow them to forget that.

Good question.

If they dont feel they have something to prove, they have no respect for themselves nor do they deserve to play for the Dallas Cowboys.

:enough:

I feel that they have something to prove every game, every year.

The 90's were greatness.
Since then we have been a joke.

That has to change.

Yep....and the one with the most to prove is JG himself. I think this is something that he understands as well.

In athletics you always have something to prove and the hardest critics tends to be the athlete themselves.

Yes, the Cowboys have to prove that they're a playoff contended and possible Super Bowl Champion THIS YEAR.

It would be a mistake however if they go out trying to prove thay were better than 6-10 last year. And I don't think they're doing that.

I think Garrett has them thinking in the right direction: forwards, not backwards.

If they don't feel like they have something to prove after posting a 6-10 record last season, then something is inherently wrong. I'm reasonably certain that point has already been made by someone on the coaching staff. Whether that might factor into the team proving themselves or not is another matter.

This.

There is never a team that doesn't have something to prove, or there shouldn't be anyway.

it has to change ASAP i really cant wait to see this team turn alot of heads not just this year in particular but years down the line.

I think Garrett will have the players focused on being their best, one game at a time, like Jimmy Johnson used to stress. Remember when Dallas beat the Commanders in the season opener in 1992? Jimmy said then during his post game speech, "I don't want to hear another word about the Commanders, this week is all about the NY Giants". I think Garrett will provide that kind of focus and accountability in his leadership. Then, at the end of the season, we will know if Dallas proved something to themselves and to the rest of the league.

I am without a doubt either his biggest fan, or biggest pimp, depending upon the point of view.

I absolutely 100% agree with that comment.

JG should have last years W-L record taped to every one of thier lockers.
