Do you get why we need to start drafting DT's early and often?

This defense is weak right up the middle. They need to rebuild the defense right up the middle first. Top priority.

Jerry, Stephen and McClay have no clue how to build a decent defense. They can try to copy the 90s Cowboys blueprint on offense but on defense, they are lost. There is no blueprint to copy the 90s teams because that was ALL Jimmy. He knew how to find players and get them to contribute together.

This team has had the same weaknesses on defense for 15+ years now. Yet they never care about spending resources on quality DTs and safeties.

Why can't we just get a sumo wrestler in there on obvious run plays? They are skilled with hand fighting, anchoring, basically being immovable. They wouldn't be every down but it would be great when they were in there.

They just drafted Gallimore who they had a high grade on. They spent money on McCoy and Poe. This defense doesn't suck just because of DT's lol. It sucks because of Nolan and frankly they don't need to invest in anything on this defense until they fire him.

I agree, however, the Cowboys have been in a bad position to draft the premier DT's in most of the recent drafts. And of course they made mistakes when they reached for Hill in the 2nd Round and neglected Safety.

This year's no better. Bad draft to be wanting a DT with a blue chip pick. No Derrick Brown from last year or Aaron Donald available here.

They most definitely were. I tell you what they didn't give up 300 years rushing in a game last year and they sure weren't historically bad consistently every week breaking records. But not the good records...
