They are not downplaying it, the MRI results were clear. He just doesnt want to risk tearing it. IMO he will be back practicing on Monday.

What's it going to be then, eh?

If anything, i would say that this injury is being underplayed.

Underplayed?

Issuing a press release in the middle of the day saying he is riding a stationary bike again is "underplaying" it? Reporting that he might miss the entire preseason is "underplaying" it?

The media couldn't underplay anything Owens-related if their lives depended on it.

Cowboys will be on MNF for the 2nd pre-season game so that will be the 1st national TV exposer

Fox is carrying the Cowboys game at 4:15 against Jacksonville, unless you're local non-Cowboys/non-Jaguars team has another game on that time.

I want to see T.O. practicing and getting acclimated with his new QB-- hopefully we can get there again real soon. I don't mind all the T.O. hype so long as he's playing and productive.

I understand that I only pointed out the 1st game that Dallas will play this season on national TV will be week 2 of the pre-season on ESPN MNF. Which is what Dragonking999 was referring too when he said TO could be milking the injury until week 2 on national TV.

Owens has outworked almost everyone on every team he has ever been on. He has never been accused of being a slacker. I doubt he would slack off of practice... He knows that without practicing his timing with Bledsoe, he will not be productive. He is just hurt. No one pushes a hamstring injury.

This is the key here, TO more than anything wants to show Philly they were wrong in treating him the way they did, I think. Therefore missing practice and not getting the timing with Bledsoe would be a big factor in his seasons success, so in my view T.O. is really worried about his hamstring and nothing more.

Man people just love to assume the worst about TO even when it's Yao Ming sized stretch.

That TO is milking this hamstring issue, so he can makes his Cowboy debut on National TV in week 2?
From my source.........Parcell's has seen enough from the combination of Bledsoe, Terry and TO. In these players case chemistry is a none issue. They are proven Vets and all they need is the 1 1/2 week black-out practices (No fans or media) prior to season opener to assimilate the Jacksonville game plan.

TO is bringing his people down to monitor his conditioning. TO and Terry Glenn would both play with the "injuries" if game day was tomorrow.

Parcell is being smart and saving his older horses. A horse trainers mentality.

I really don't think this guy is milking anything. Does anybody remember him getting his ankle broken on that RW tackle and then playing in the Super Bowl w/ a plate and screws in the ankle?? He may be a loud mouth, but EVERYBODY who has ever played with him says he is a gamer and gives it everything to play. Practice has always been his forte', so I tend to think he is for real when he says he just isn't sure about the feeling. I also agree with the several posters who are sick of hearing about every little thing that he does.
