We all know that he`s as soft as a cleenex, and he isn`t the most well liked guy, but i`ve got to admit, I`ve been pretty impressed with Barbie the last few weeks. He`s like a white kevin burnett..great coverage, and he `s always around plays now...

I say with the uncapped year, Barbie is a great luxury we can afford....Jerruh make it happen

I don't think there's any need to outright release the guy, but I do think his position is one that could be potentially upgraded over.

I'd like to see a competition opened up in training camp with Jason Williams, who physically is a freak but we don't know much about as an overall football player. I wouldn't even mind another inside 'backer drafted, or maybe a role guy signed as a low-cost free agent to compete for the job.

Carpenter is adequate and, gulp, I think getting better? Doesn't seem like TEs are abusing him in passing situations. He was certainly opportunistic against Philly, for which I'll be forever grateful. But on a defense that otherwise has few holes, I think he's easily a guy that is among our smallest contributors.

I'd gladly resign him to a one year deal.

Anything longer than that and I let him walk.

I agree. let him compete unless an unlikely trade offer comes along. I think with a little experience, Jason Williams will supplant him though.

No, that position needs an upgrade and there are too many others that need to be resigned many of who will want big money. They have 2-3 guys waiting in the wings and one of them should be able to make BC expendable next year. No need to waste the money. Use it for longer-term deals on the guys you want to keep around for awhile.

Now that we are in the elite 8 and can't sign a free agent until we lose one, he would be the ideal candidate to let go so that we can sign someone if needed.

I agree with you, or they can play Stephon Hodge, draft or sign a FA, Barbie did well yesterday and at times, but his positive plays are still way behind the negative plays, really he gets beat like drum in coverage

He's under contract for another year.

I've been surprised one of the other LBs haven't beaten him out for playing time by now.

That does not bode well for the other LBs.

Jason Williams barely sniffed any playing time. He better bring his A-game to camp next season. Or he will be gone. 3rd round picks are not autmatic to make the team.

He's been OK as a nickel LB, but let him compete in TC for a job.

Trade Barbie to KC straight up for Derrick Johnson. Wow that would be best trade ever. He would probably replace Bradie or Brooking in the starting lineup. Super stud LB. KC not playing him right. Also will give young back up ILBs time to learn.

...give Williams a few snaps/ seasons to develop some savy in pass coverage, got all the athletism apparently, but more to it than that.....

Carp has limited some decent TE's this season, granted he is helped by our pass rush, which requires the TE being kept in,

.....but Boss, Gonzalas etc never put up the big numbers ....

If Williams can flat out beat him out next TC so be it.....thats the NFL
The Cowboys will be a better team for it

The Cowboys will be looking to upgrade at his position, but if he will play for the league minimum and isn't a "progress stopper" then i guess he can stay. Odds are one of last year's picks or picks from the next draft will be more deserving of his roster spot though.
