Do you have a second team?

Get someone else, you are very bad at it.
To the point that it has become a meme when Rocky calls someone a Fair Weather fan. I mean who didn't laugh awhile ago when they read it in this thread, and didn't think about that infamous thread that was totally embarrassing.

Growing up I liked the 49ers with Tom Rathman n Roger Craig. Also, I like the Bengals with Icky Woods n James Brooks. Once I endured the 1-15 season I paid my dues and became a legitimate Cowboys fan.

I like how the Ravens run their team, but I only have one team.

Nope. My dad used to take me to see "The Tyler Rose" Earl Campbell play at UT. I became I big fan of his. I got into the "Luv Ya Blue" craze when he was with the Oilers. Cowboys were still my team then, but I did pull for a Texas SB. Never happened though. :(

GO COWBOYS!
Yes I was a Oiler fan, great uniforms, and I dreamed of a SB with Dallas and Oiler's too.
They could never get past the steelers though.

I get this question sometimes so I wanted to share. I remember there was a big party at my home when i was a kid in 1981. I was the only kid there and was only 12.. It was a party for the NFC Championship game. My Mom would throw these parties every now and then.

Everyone there was rooting for Joe Montana....I wasn't....I watched in a separate room and when it was over, all the guests had to walk right past me. I'll never forget finding out later that my Mom told everyone not to say a word to me and they didn't. They just walked quietly by....Around my house the quickest way to start something was to say something bad about the boys.

Never had a second team, never cared for other teams especially the Steelers, 49ers, Commanders, Eagles, etc. When I grew up we would ask someone who their favorite NFL team was and if they had more than one, they weren't really a Fanatic. My problem is I just don't know alot of the players my kids know. They watch alot of football. I watch Dallas. Now i have two boys, 28 and 21 and they are like i was. No second favorites. GO Cowboys
I can't cheer for another team I don't care if it's the Superbowl and people say pick a team. I'm only a fan of other teams when they play teams I want them to beat;! The teams you listed, anyone who plays against them, I love that team for 3 hours lol after that hell no!!!

In conclusion I can't cheer for another team, there's too much stress time and effort being a cowboys fan, wouldn't have the energy to do so

Teams change from year to year, and I will root for whoever I feel like rooting for in a given year.
I dont care what others think of that. I have had a lot of fun doing it that way.

I grew up in Tampa, FL in the late 70’s and 80’s. I rooted for the Bucs as long as they weren’t playing Dallas.

HELL NO!! It's Cowboys all day every day and that's over all other sports I like the Mavericks and the Rangers and the Stars but if I had to make a choice to only have one team left in DFW it would be the cowboys and football....

Same thing in college it's Longhorns and I don't really pay attention to anything else other than who they're playing...

Football will always be king to me And the Cowboys will always be sitting on top from my eyes...

I don't have a "2nd team". However, back when I was a teenager, I was (still am) a die hard Cowboys fan, but for some unknown reason, I sort of liked the Oakland Raiders. Guess I was going through some kind of phase, cuz it didn't last long! LOL
Cowboys are my "ride or die" team. Just wish we could do more "riding" and less "dying".

well I may not be a "real Fan" lol but
I did make a wager on the cowboys winning more than 7 games, so if they win 8 I win a little $.
I think they will win around 10 at least.

I wonder how many of the "real fans "
have made that same bet or on any cowboy futures bets
that are there right now??

How can you be a "real" fan and not think they will win at least 8 games?????????

Assessments and evalutions.

You absolutely have to have back up teams if you are a cowboys fan. I am still all in on the Lions, but I also pull for some of the long suffering fan bases (Vikings, Bears, Jets). I'd also like to see Kellen do well.

Bungles maybe. Being a Cincinnati Reds fan living in the Toronto Area I have slightly migrated to following Ohio based teams, and seeing that they have a QB I wish we had, so why not. I was also a massive Aikman fan, and see similarities in both their games

I grew up about hour outside of Buffalo with a family of Bills fans. Dallas will always be my first love, but I do root for the Bills when they play anyone other than Dallas. I understand what them winning a SB would mean to that community and most of my family.

That said, boy did I ever gloat though when we beat the Bills in back to back Superbowls!

If you follow players through their college recruitment and playing time in college, you can’t help but have a slight vested interest in their pro career.

Plus, if you spend quality time with your offspring while rooting for the same college team, and that team has a player that holds a prominent role with a NFL squad, then again, you can’t help but hope his team does well.
