Do you have more confidence or less based on what we have seen?

Someone calling a red house, blue. Isn’t an opinion. It’s a lie.

Someone saying “I worry about the cowboys WR corp or I think the OL depth sucks”

is an opinion. Valid opinions I might add considering the cowboys OL depth and WR depth are both unproven.

Exactly. Just like someone saying that Dak is average is a lie. Just like someone saying Ryan Leaf was a great pro QB is either a lie or a just dead wrong.

Opinions can be lies, wrong, or laughable.

If it is the person’s actual opinion it cannot be a lie nor wrong because it’s only opinion (which cannot be proven correct or false at the time it is made). If someone says they feel Dak is average, you can laugh if you like. But if it is their true opinion and they define average QB differently than you do-you are just at an irreconcilable impasse of opinions. It is impossible to actually do a comprehensive comparison, other than certain stats (which might factor more into some people’s opinions than others). No reason to get bent out of shape over-you are just wrong on this one.

Nope, opinions can be dead wrong from the start. Dak is not average, its proven and Ryan Leaf was never a great pro QB.

If your opinion is that Zeke is a fast RB, well then your just laughably dead wrong. :lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao:

Or you are lying. :oldcouple:

Way less confident.
This team got less talented not more over the off-season and they still wouldn't be much better even if the free agents they lost were still here.

Dak is going into his seventh year. If it hasn't hit you in the face like a brick that we've already seen Dak at his peak right now then you need a swift kick in the backside.
Our only hope is our division still stinks and we are still the tallest midget and our rookies hit.
And Dak isn't dumbfounded by cover 2 defenses anymore.

I expect the defense to ball out but they won't duplicate the turnover ratio from last season again.

Nope-they are just opinions (which by definition-go look at the dictionary, cannot be proven or disproven). They might mean that Dak has average ball throwing speed or defensive play recognition. They may not include comparing Dak to all the other QB starters of a season. Since it is their or your opinion, everyone gets to set the threshold of something so subjective like how good a QB is compared to however many peers they wish to compare too.

Just like you can feel energized by looking at a stat-line they may feel pretty meh on it when taking in other factors that you may consider less or un- important. Just like if I said Zeke is fast or faster-we don’t know who or what I am comparing him to unless it is stated when the opinion is given (which is why opinions exist). It’s been nice semi-adulting with you. I do not care if you feel someone’s opinion is wrong or right for reasons already listed. By the way, the other guy you called scared looks like he gave you his honest opinion. You are welcome to go on the cyclical name calling if that floats your boat. :flagwave:

But that info on Dak and Leaf are based on NFL stats- games those guys have played in. Our rookies haven’t played a real NFL game yet. Big difference. We all are hoping they work out. But it takes time to prove it.

Your opinion is they will be great. That’s fine. It’s just not a fact…yet. All I’m saying is we will know in time. Just not now.

same level as when camp started.
10+ wins...win the east...make the play-offs.
the rest is up to them.

More confidence in the run game.

More confidence in the DT position.

More confidence in our LBs.

No confidence in Rush or DiNucci.

More confidence in our secondary with Bland emerging.

Slightly less confidence in our WR group.

Slightly more confidence in the OL.

More confidence in TEs.

Better. I felt good about the defense going into the offseason but it seems the interior line has taken a huge step forward. The acquisition of Anthony Barr is going to end up being one of the best of the offseason I think.

If...and it's a big if...Tyler Smith pans out, we have a championship formula in place. Pound the rock, move the chains, control the clock, play suffocating defense. Still wish they would've spent more money to beef up the lines a bit. Otherwise, I hate to say it, you may have been right about the Cooper move. Not eating crow yet, but this team is looking promising.

About the same. Maybe even a tad better due to how well the D performed.

I couldn't be less excited going into next season. Actually it will be the first season, I won't care about until the play offs start. Simply because the past has shown us again and again, that regular season scores tell us nothing about what to expect from the play offs. Oh wait, not beating any contender actually did.

So I will take notice of the games against TB, Bengals, Rams and GB and see where we stand there. So to answer the OPs initial question: this was my stand before TC and it still is, so "same".

- Defence should be a little better
- Offense probably about the same (Dak still has enough weapons, o line probably the same) running game a big question mark
- ST a question mark for me
- kicking still a big nono
- Coaching the same
- coordinating the same

Same same same

In the end it will come down to what our running game can do and this will depend on Zeke (Pollard is fine imo) and the oline

P. S.: If there is one good thing about the whole situation: as a whole this team has stayed together so one could see it as it's second year. Maybe they have learned from last year and improved in aspects we haven't seen yet. This is what I'm hoping for.

Based on the entire offseason of OTA's, TC and one week of preseason are you more or less confident in the team going into the season then you were prior?

This team will take a step back offensively, and it is unlikely to lead the NFL in takeaways again.

Adjust expectations accordingly. The Cowboys will do well to make the playoffs, again, if that.

I have to say neither. It doesn't give any insight as to the strength of the rest of the league.

The first regular season game is usually the best indicator, but certainly not all the time.

lot of games are won by late FG’s, unfortunately I have no faith in any of the kickers on this roster at this point. for the first time in along time I have concerns about the offense as a whole, from the WR core to the OL, and depth at the tackle position.
