Do you really think the Cowboys can win a Super Bowl?

Set aside your blue star, resist your urge to defend anything Cowboys (gonna be tough for some folks), and ask yourself this question honestly.

Does this look like a championship team to you? Do you have confidence the front-office-for-life can deliver one? If so, other than you want them to, why?

I've been open about it. I expect to die before the Jones Family Fantasy Football front office outsmarts the rest of the NFL. If you disagree, please tell me why. Other than blue-star-love, give me a reason to believe.

If you go through my post history, I was rather negative about the team in the offseason but I'll admit I was wrong. This team is in the mix.

What fans in the NFL really don't want to admit is that winning a super bowl has a good amount of luck involved with it unless you are an absolutely dominant team. Usually just a few plays can really change a season. Beyond that, I don't see a single dominant team out there. I wouldn't be surprised if the super bowl winner had a regular season record of 12-5 or 11-6. Fans just get too down due to those 5 or 6 losses.

What will it take for the Cowboys to win?
- Use Pollard as the primary back. They just can't go back to him getting 5 carries a game as Zeke struggles.
- Limit the penalties. This is probably the achilles heel of the team. The stupidity that invariable extends or kills drives.
- Get back to the Cooper Rush offense. That's where Dak and the defense thrive in.
- Luck

Is all this possible? Yes. Will it happen? Probably not.

They have the personnel to do it, that is pretty clear based on some of the wins we have seen this year.

They also have some pretty big coaching flaws....we are all well versed on the KM issues but DC had some really big misses in how he is using his DTs that is leaving the LBs exposed....same can be said for the cbs at times.

If this team is going to have a chance, the coaching staff is going to be the route that gets them there.

Can they, yes....will they this year...I'd give it less than a 15% chance..but it's as good as any year we have had in the past 27

No. I could go over a list of why I think it's not likely, but the main problem is at the top. Jerry (and Stephen). All other problems stem from them.

We’re so far away from a super bowl that it might as well be on Mars.

Jake, I am with you 100%.
There is a reason why we have not been to a NFCC in 27 years.
The common denominator is the Jones Family.
We get a lot of entertainment.
Championship football, not so much.

Can only answer for this year…..and that’s a big NO. However, hope springs eternal that this franchise will restructure Daks 48 and 53 million dollar salary cap burden the next two years and use free agency in a MEANINGFUL way………..so Hankins is the biggest improvement to the defense they could come up with?

They had a historically advantageous opportunity to get to the Championship game because of the decline of Brady and Rodgers and they made the smallest splash in FA and trades at the deadline.

To win a SB, it generally requires a QB to string together an elite string of performances, unless you have an all-world defense that comes around once a generation. You can afford an average game, if the defense isn’t elite, but good enough, And that my friends, is the problem.

This team doesn’t resemble what we think of when we think championship team.

But I’ve also never seen the NFC there for the taking the way it is now.

If they happen to be playing at a high level in January, they have a chance to win a couple of playoff games.

Four in a row away from home? We need too many things to go right, and for some reason karma ain’t on our side. I have my suspicions there, but for another time.

Who says you have to be good to win? It is possible they play just good enough to get a lucky bounce of the ball and win!

The real problem would be with the refs inventing another catch rule and stealing the win from the cowboys.

I don’t even think they can make the playoffs .

Nope

Check back with me when we have a different QB, a different HC and OC...of course by then we'll need key pieces in other areas that we are currently set on, and let me check...a Jones is still in charge...so NO.

If the offense, defense, and special teams all play at a high level, they can beat any team in the league. I don't see how you can say they are not able to win a super bowl. Will they, that is a different question
