Do you think Mroz will stick after mini camps?

QB Jeff Mroz ~ Yale -- Big, strong armed quarterback (6' 5",230), who we know for a fact NFL scouts have followed closely this fall. Mroz, who threw 22 TD's and completed nearly 60 percent of his attempts in 2005, just "looks the part" of an NFL prospect, due to his size and arm strength. Kind of looks like the Ivies version of Ben Roethlisberger, in terms of size and build.......He took the 2004 season off to enter the business world, but returned strong and more determined to make a run at the NFL.......We really like his potential as a Day 2 developmental prospect, knowing NFL teams are always looking for big quarterbacks with strong arms. Lack of experience and limited mobility are two negatives to his game, we think. Must also become more consistent and cut down on the interceptions.

Sounds like a good prospect i would keep him and put him on the practice squad for devleopmental guy. Ron Wolf once said you can never have enough good QB's

no. i read NONE of our qb's are eligible for this round of camps so someone had to be brought in to throw the ball around. if he shows something, maybe. otherwise, just having fun in a cowboys camp for a few weeks.

I agree I think if he makes it, it will be on practice squad

A guy who graduates from Yale. Waiting around on the practice squad.
I give him one year before he goes into the business world.

I think he will soley on the fact you need 4 quarterbacks for training camp to prevent fatigue on your main 3

Looks as if he has already got some irons in the fire sorta speak.

True however if you love football sometimes you have to wait. The business world is not going any where’s but you only have x amount of time to play football.

If he shows promise, I'd love to stick him on the practice squad and let him develop his game and maybe be the third QB once Romo or Henson take over.

Smart QBs are good guys to have on Practice Squads and as backups. I still think highly of Jason Garrett for this reason. I wish the kid well.

I think even if he doesn't make it PS, they need to get someone capable of developing for future. I mean, unless Tony Romo is resigned in offseason for long term, I don't know how they can go with just two QBs on roster, that is if Bledsoe still stays with Cowboys next year.

And if Bledsoe leaves next year, they are not able to keep Romo, lets say because he didn't win backup job this year, i.e. Henson wins it this year, then they might only have Henson next year. Thats not wise. I really thought they might pick a QB in draft, in second day, who would be a good developmental prospect.

I agree that is the reason for the Cowboys however Mroz will do what he can to try and impress the staff. If he can do that then he has a chance to at least make the practice squad.

Well since Chris Palmer (from what I've read) has already invested a tiny bit of time working with Mroz prior to the draft, I believe the staff will definitly try to keep him on the practice sqaud this year. Expecting anything more this year, barring injury, would be overly optimistic. I think at the end of this season, some sort of decision will be made on Romo and/or Henson. Especially Romo since his contract expires.

No, I think there might be a decision be made at end of TC most likely, especially if Henson wins no. 2 job. If Romo wins the job, then you are probably right, it will wait till end of season, since Henson is going nowhere, unless he totally bombs in TC.
