Do you think Nassib will be drafted insanely high?

There was talk about it a month or so that it was possible a team like the Bills might do something crazy. Dude just scored a 41 on the wonderlic, I think some teams are thinking he has an incredible ceiling over Barkley or Manuel.

What do you think the surprise of the draft?

I sure hope he gets drafted very early.. Pushes a better player further down the board..

I honestly believe he is drafted before we're on the clock. Buffalo may trade down a little bit in the first but he will be their pick in the 1st.

Yep, I'm not buying into this talk that no QBs go in the top half of the 1st round. I see Smith, Nassib and possibly even Manuel going before us.

I think he goes late 1st round in trade up

Like everyone is saying, it would be sweet if he went before us!

QBs are always over drafted. He has the strongest arm in the draft and scored a 41 on the Wonderlich. I say round one. In fact if Buffalo doesnt take him at 8, and if they called about 18, I'd do it for their number one next year and two this year.

The Nassib reach was mentioned on the draft show on dallascowboys.com. They had an in-studio guest that seemed to be pretty tuned in. I think he said if Philadelphia takes Geno Smith, Ryan Nassib to Buffalo is a very real possibility.

He was aware that it seems convenient to match up the QB and HC, but the GM in Buffalo is not really a personnel guy. He's kind of a GM like Barry Switzer was a head coach. He retired back in 2008 and he's up there in years. Rumor is the head coach will get who he wants.

I thing Geno Smith is the only QB likely to go before Cowboys, but two more likely at bottom of round 1.

the one absolute constant in the NFL draft is that teams always reach for QBs

I think buffalo will 1) take nasib at 8 if geno goes to Philly or 2) draft warmack and have a power left side with warmack and their steal from Georgia 3) trade with St. Louis 8 and 39 for 16 and 22. St. Louis gets Austin but does not lose a pick.

I am impressed with Nassib, and I hope that he and Smith and as many QB's as possible go before #18...realistically, teams that want/need a QB may get nervous and we could see a little mini-run on them; depending on whom you listen to, Barkley and Manuel could get early consideration as well...what I see is Smith going somewhere before our pick, and possibly Nassib...but, I more likely see teams trying to get these guys in the early part of round #2

No....I don't.

I think Barkley will be the surprise QB by going higher than many expect...but not in top half of round one.

Those receivers at USC didn't make all those catches, yards, and TDs on their own. USC was much weaker than most realize this past year. Barkley has 4 years of starting experience in a major program. That's worth something; teams don't like to gamble on QBs in rounds 1-2. This is no gamble. He's not Luck or RG III, but he will be successful in the NFL.

I agree as...this QB class is as thin as any in history and there are a lot of teams that desperately need a QB, which also happens to be far and away the most critical position on a team period. The other thing is that we must remember Denver traded way up into the late 2nd to get Tebow, a QB that no one could've possibly had a grade higher than a late 2nd on.
QBs are too needed and too valuable just like OGs are not as valuable and they way teams value these two positions always shows up clearly and boldly on draft day. I expect most QBs to be gone by the end of the 2nd with a few lingering in the 3rd. I even think Landry Jones will end up in the 3rd and I wouldn't touch him except as a UDFA.

You meant first, I actually thought he should have been drafted as a 4th or 5th round pick exclusively on potential of being an H-back.

I don't think he'll go before us, but he will go higher than most expect.
