We as fans know more about the game than BP and Staff? We sit here every week and wonder how they could be so predictable, or so boring. I know it's frustrating surely BP has lost it. :bang2:

Well here is my theory... (FWIW) BP is playing to his opponents level. We have been in every game thus far. True we could easyly be 4-0, as 0-4. This team has appeared to be lethargic, and same old same old. Look at the teams we have played thus far. We all know we have better talent than we have had in years, yet it seems to be they are not playing to their potential. BP likes the horses, (races) Maybe, he is making a concerted effort to reign in the team until these next few weeks, let loose on the division and then pull away.

Any way that is my thinking. Surely BP is seeing the same things we are, there HAS to be a logical reason for it. I do not think for one second this game has passed him by. I really think there is a method to his madness.

Amazingly, some people here do think they know more then BP and Staff.


That said, I know I criticize Zimmer often. I know I don't know more then him about coaching defense, but I do know he doesn't know enough.

Didn't Parcell's say in preseason that when asked about being in the 3-4 when playing a 3 WR set...He replied, we will make changes & gameplan in the real games?
Play close to the vest until our first Filthy game..at home?

I don't think that it is as much as playing down as it is playing close. For example we know during the pre-season the play book is never really opened. We don't want to show teams everything. Maybe for this first quarter season BP saw the schedule, and decieded that this team can win with a vanilla offense and defense. It was noted in another thread that BP wanted to build this team to play, compete and BEAT the Eagles.

Perhaps with this in mind, he will open up the "reigns" some and let the team play and open up on their next 3-4 opponents. Like I said earlier, surely BP sees the same thing we are seeing, but he knows what he has in mind. As the saying goes, In Bill we Trust ( At least I do)

Who is to say that fans can see things that the coaches can't on gameday?

It happens ALL the time.

It's amazing that people think that only old crusty guys know anything about sports.

Look at the Red Sox....how old is their GM? early 30's. Just today, a 28 year old was named GM of a pro baseball team. Does this guy who was a fan a couple of years ago know nothing?

Sure, coaches see more via gamefilm, but sometimes they get stuck in a rut and refuse to come out of it due to stubbornness or just a belief that "It will eventually work....I just know it."

I for one don't believe that we can't question or even call things "stupid" when we see "stupid" being played out before us.

If there are people that don't feel like questioning the coaches in good times and/or bad, then start up your own utopian website where noone is allowed to question them.

This is what being a fan is all about....being able to cheer for your team as well as call for people's heads' when the time comes.

Would I do some things differently during the game? Yep....and I have no qualms about saying that.
