Jaylon did play pretty well for a season or so, so I'm not sure how much his recovery had to do with his play. His problem seemed to be more with trying to go around blocks instead of taking them on and ending up in the wrong spot. I think the injury clearly robbed him of some mobility, but I don't think it is what messed up his career.

A season or so is probably all they're looking to get out of Clarke, too.

Clark would have been taken ahead of Dean easily and been the LB2 to Lloyd in this draft, and if you dont understand that than you just haven't taken any time to
care about paying attention.
Everybody should be pumped about getting a healthy 2nd yr player back in Cox for this season, so with the same patience you afforded Cox, the return on Clark will be buying in on this 5th round investment at bargain basement cap prices and that equals steal.

Leave it to Typhus to get his panties in a wad over something he thinks I said but didn't. I'm not saying Damone Clark's pro career will emulate that of Jaylon Smith so stop getting uppity about it. I'm only saying the drafting of both players was clouded by uncertainty but also optimistic speculation. Nothing more, nothing less.

Unless they are being coy, which they probably are not given he slipped to the 5th round, the only feasible option is to redshirt him. Why take the chance? Stephen loves the 1 year deal so go out and grab a cheap veteran when the camp cuts hit.

I don’t mind taking these shots in later rounds because odds are against those guys ever being impact players. Get fortunate with an injury recovery and you end up with a much better player. I wouldn’t have taken that shot with Smith.

Your avi reminded me of why I do what I do.
Just ordered all of his books (I've read them all, but I always give them away because that's what I do. I'm a sucker to spread good literature to the ones I care about.) again for my Library.
I'll never forget so many of his missives. One that sticks out to me was him playing shotgun golf with Bill Murray.
Not his best stuff, but I always remember that one.

LVE never had neck fusion surgery.

He has spinal stenosis and had a minor surgery to create more room and alleviate symptoms associated with a bulging disk.

The irony is LVE’s condition is more serious (higher risk of injuring his spine) but has a less invasive surgical treatment, but Clark’s issue has less risk of serious injury but a more invasive/problematic surgical treatment.

BTW, Michael Irvin and Devontae Hollman both retired due to spinal stenosis.
