Hiring a hc staff for them is an effective way to let them know they will be the puppet and Jerry will pull all the strings.

Garrett had plenty of his own coaches over the years. Except they all sucked and had to be replaced.

He has no coaching tree to speak of, so of course we hire former players and others from around the league

I don't know for a fact that Jerry is the only one, but I do know there are coaches who pick their own staff and Jerry's way hasn't been working in Dallas.
