Exactly....Why over pay for players at positions you dont have needs....Steinbach and Dielman play a need poistion, but not at that price.

The Cowboys are playing it smart, half these guys getting big money really haven't played like big time players... I think Nate Clements is a solid corner, he's no Champ Bailey, Chris McCallister or Terence Newman. I think Adalius Thomas has earned his new contract, he's a monster, another Willie McGinist.

True...But where would Thomas fit here? We are loaded with linebackers...They all may not be play-makers, but solid players.

Columbo is the real concern. JJ blew it by not getting this guy locked up early on. If we keep him, we surely are going to pay more then we would have earlier.

T-New is no Champ Bailey... Not after watching Mike Furrey abuse him

Every CB has a bad game. People should remember that in 2005 Champ got beat several times. This last season he was at his best. T New was doing fine untill detroit- but then the whole D went into the crapper there.

Shutdown Corners (if thats such a thing anymore) should get beat occasionally by Top Tier Wide Receivers...

Champ bailey got owned a couple of times by TEs before. WItten did him once. As a rookie. Every CB is going to bet beat. TNEW gets beat less then any other CB because he is not always looking for INTS. He KNOWS that the PRIMARY job of a CB is to prevent catches- its a SECONDARY job to get INTS.

we entered FA w/ 2 real needs, FS and OG

OG is the deepest position out there

a successful offseason IMO, is re-signing Columbo, Grammatica, and signing a solid OG, all 3 are still very, real posibilities
