Does anyone believe the players respect Stephen?

Honest question. How much could the players on this team actually respect Stephen Jones?

I mean they’re essentially employees. Employees who have gotten into their position through years and years of training to be the best football player they can be. Literally blood, sweat and tears for years to make it to the NFL as a player.

These employees then have to deal with the owners son, talking about “pie” and nickel and diming other employees over their contracts.

They also have to deal with the owners son, who only has his job because he is the owners son. Calling out their performance to the media. Telling the media that “they need to step up”. While taking no accountability and never having HIS position on the line.

I mean. Football or no football. At any company this would be a recipe for disaster. No employee in any profession or job wants to be bossed around by the incompetent buffoon, owners son.

If I was a cowboys player I would hate Stephen Jones more than I already do. I mean really.

The only thing they respect is the $$$ coming into their bank accounts from the Jones boys.

At the end of the day I think they just want to earn a big contract… play good, get a contract, get $$. Winning comes second. No third. Instagram follower count is second.

yep, and everybody got all defensive when Jay Ratcliff was about to kick Jerry's butt in the locker room. Everybody hated Jay for that. smh. Jay should have been happy playing out of position and getting called out by a toupee-wearing old ego manic who doesn't know football. Great fans.

I don't think the players mind as long as they're getting paid and not held accountable for bad play.

Well therein lies the problem. Any player who wouldn’t care, is the wrong type of player that can’t win a championship anyway.

So this has now created a vicious cycle.

Nepotistic, incompetent front office. Leads to apathetic coaches and players. And around and around we go for 26 years.

I think Michael Irvin would have tried to stab Stephen jones with scissors if Stephen ever called him out.

This team is FILLED with guys like that, but worry not, they'll be in their press conferences telling us that they're ready to "prove everyone wrong" and "they're in the best shape of their life".

Stephen is known around the league for being notoriously cheap. Stephen also has no skills nor has he earned anything in this league to be where he is. He exists in his position only because his last name is "Jones." You gotta believe the players realize this.

There have been several negotiations of note recently where Stephen was bypassed entirely and they went straight to Jerry. As hard as I am on Jerry and as much as I can't stand watching him masquerade as a football guy, the looming Stephen regime will be way worse.

Stephen will devalue the Cowboys when he inherits team.

He has zero football IQ and lacks Jerry's business acumen.

I do think most of them are:

- overwhelmed by what they achieved (playing in the NFL) and
- way too young and unexperienced to think about that and
- have other goals

These are still kids when they are drafted.

This will take time and of course intellect to see SJ in the right light. Just think how many discussion we have in this forum about particular topics. And most of us are experienced older gus or girls.

They have respect for Stephen Jones because he’s one of the owners and if he doesn’t want a player on the team he can talk Jerry into moving on from them and TO will vouch for that. Lol

The players want to make the team. Then they want to hold their position long enough to get a 2nd contract. Then they want to get the highest amount their agent can squeeze out and they don’t care where… look at how many players from around the league signed ridiculous contracts to go play in purgatory down in Jacksonville and the Al Davis Raiders. It’s the same mindset league wide. Stephen could be doing interviews in a red cocktail dress and pink lipstick and they couldn’t give two ***** less! It’s not their concern!

It is not important that the players respect the owner or the VP of Personnel.

It is crucial that they respect their coaches and I really question that they do.
And that’s primarily true because the owner/GM and his DNA recipient VP do not show enough respect for the coaches.
