Me and my buddies were screaming to get him off the TV. What was his actual purpose? Did they need him there, to say the exact same things Madden and Al were saying? Was this some special report?

enough with Turkey-neck.

i would never say I hate a person I've never met but he sounds like a clown - he has no business being on TV. He was a heck of a WR though.

this is what I sent them:

Dear NBC,

Really disappointed in your new Football night in America. The old ESPN show was WAY better. Specific comments follow;

1. Crew feels like they are doing the 250meter event at the Olympics, not a good football game.
2. Game highlights come off like a shopping list. Even the FOX guys do better.
3. Feels totally corporate.
4. Bob sucks, keep him for the ice-skating events only please.
5. Chris is a ok but don't let him run the deal, he gets old quick.
6. Jerome is new so he gets a pass.
7. Sharpe is the best of that crew, let him take over for Bob please.

I am watching tonight due to the Cowboys, I doubt I will check back until something better happens. It really is that painful to watch.

Collinsworth I can stand.

Collinsworth talking about a different game while the Cowboys are running plays that are going totally ignored is bizzarre.

If you do... please step forward.
he's a total dolt, plus it was obscene to watch HDTV with his picture taking up 1/2 the screen of the football game.

FOCUS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD SCHMUCKS

the NBC coverage tonite was horrendous... inappropriate sideline and other non-game commentary (that dumb ellis conversation with blondie during our offensive drive especially)

Agreed, but that's NBC's fault, not Collinsworth's. I'll be the guy that stands up and say I appreciate him. I think he often brings unique views that the mainstream aren't bringing. He also readily admits when he is wrong.

Also, I interned for HBO Sports in the spring of last year and was able to work on the last few shows of Inside the NFL. Marino, Carter and Costas were all primadonnas. There was one show that was running long and everyone was trying to get done. Marino, Carter and Costas were whining like little punks but Collinsworth was the first to have to miss his plane home and he didn't whine at all. He appreciates HBO for all they did for him (he started w/ HBO) so maybe he's better w/ that network then others. Overall, I like the guy and the analyst.

I lived just outside of Cincy for a few years. No one back there can stand him. If you can't be liked in the city you played it must be rough.

I am not a big fan of his but evidently NBC likes him because they paid him a lot of money to lure him away from Fox:rolleyes:

I do. He seems more honest in his evaluations even though like anybody he's misses alot. But he admits it and doesn't seem to say things quite as commercially as the rest.

*Sigh*. I'll step forward. His voice is annoying, but I liked him as a player, and I like the fact that he's not afraid to stick his turkey neck out. There are a lot worse out there, IMHO.

I agree completely that his segment during tonights game was out of place and a huge distraction to what was actually going on.

I thought he was good on fox. his role on NBC is awful. there was nothing more painful to watch than the pre-game show when he was standing in front of the big screen trying to write on it w/ the yellow lines. UGh
