I just have to ask. He keeps getting TV jobs and he is just horrible. Either he has incriminating pictures of some NFLN bigwigs OR he actually has fans out there. Just really hard to imagine that.

Agree completely, he is terrible and offers nothing of substance. His only redeeming quality in my book is that he has been a lifetime open Cowboys fan (even while playing), despite some of his railing against us on the shows. But yeah, it is perplexing that he keeps landing gigs. Maybe he is charming in interviews with producers (don't know how)? Maybe they seem him as their potential Barkley?, It is too bad bc he comes no where in the hemisphere of the level of Sir Charles in terms of his charm or charisma. Don't hate the guy, but his place on TV wouldn't be missed.

It is a disgrace that any NFL player would be on that "show." Emmitt made me cringe. Love him but lost a lot of respect for him doing that garbage.

A thousand times, YES. I didn't lose respect for him, per sec, but I loathed every stupid minute of him being on that show, and I hate that show in general and the fact that they recruit NFL stars, in particular.

I'll just say I like him because I think he speaks his mind. Yes, sometime he sounds like a blubbering idiot. But I don't thinks he is up there saying things to fall in line with the media mainstream, just for the sake of doing so. So I give him credit for that, whether I agree or disagree.

Ok. That's something at least. I just watch and shake my head that he gets paid to act like a blubbering idiot.

Same page 100%. It is is turning mainstream media's perceptions of NFL players into something that it never was before (soft). Takes away of some the "gladiator" description synonymous with NFL athletes who really do risk their health and bodies to beat the pulp out of each other every snap. In a way, it is saying, today's NFL men are your average Joe when they are far from it in terms of the special qualities that are required to compete in such a violent sport. Shows are players are turning just as soft as the rest of the US culture in a way when they were one of the few remaining institutions to hold this higher regard.

Cedric the Entertainer of Jerry Rice Embarrassment:

I'm sure it's part of the league's crossover efforts to get more female viewers, which is fine in itself. I just really don't want to see the league's all-time rushing leader in a dancing competition and/or a reality show. Gross.

Check out that clip though, Idgit, really describes a fans disappointment perfectly.

If Sapp played for Dallas and Irvin didn't, would this be a topic? They are both boisterous, loud and have strong-willed opinions. I see them both as a love or hate em, no in-between.

Although Sapp carries on more than Michael, I am sure they both rub people the wrong way. I guess at least he(they) have experience backing them up, I can deal with that.

I do agree that Warren sucks and Irvin is the best :D

Lol! I didn't wait for the video to load the first time. That's spot on. (Unfortunately, it's got language we can't share on the site, so nobody else is going to know what we're referring to. I had to remove the link).

Irvin talks football (loudly in ex-coke head fashion but he brings up legitimate points outside of the Cowboys as well. Sapp seems like he is giving the most basic "analysis" that could be read and rarely, if ever, has a counter point to his argument other than to get obnoxious. Irvin is loud and can be obnoxious, but he is obviously intelligent and understands the finer points of the game on a different stratosphere when compared to Sapp. Mike knows the game in and out. He was a student of his opponent and a hard worker. Sapp was just a freak. But like you said, I am obviously biased as well;)

Ahhh, he cussed? I didn't think he did. My bad about that.

I'd probably dislike Mike if he'd played for any other team. As he is, I love him.
Hard to say with Sapp. I dislike his commentary generally, but I do think he's got a fairly engaging personality when he's not actually making a football-related point. He's not one of my favorites, but I don't hate him. He does get some points from me just for being a Cowboy fan, though.

el em aye oh

I think Emmitt was more of a disgrace during his time as an 'analyst' on ESPN.
