we have the most penalty yards on offense (183) and defense(158).wow.what a swing in points, and we are still looking good.if this gets corrected, lookout.

I'm not surprised - we've been pretty sloppy in that department. Considering Parcells intolerance for those kinds of problems I expect that will be an issue in practice the next few weeks.

And if it doesn't, look out.

That is something I have no doubt Parcells will harp on to the players. We can't afford to continue to shoot ourselves in the foot with as many mistakes as we have up to this point.

We might be able to get away with some mistakes against the Texans and the Titans but if we screw up like this against the Eagles they will hand us our butts. And so will most of the other teams on our schedule; this has to be corrected.

Actually, you are misunderstanding the numbers a little bit.

It is confusing, but when the penalty yards are listed under "defense", it actually is referring to penalty yards the opposing teams have had against us (Jax had 41, Was had 117, that equals 158).

The penalty yards under "offense" is the total yards we have been penalized this year (93 against Jax, 90 against Was, total of 183).

Plus, just think about it. Yes, we have been committing a lot of penalties, but there is no way we were averaging 170 penalty yards a game. That would be absurd.

good point. we've committed only 183,our opponents have been penalized 158

sorry for the confusion, still a lot.needs to be fixed, cause those penalties usually negated good yardage to start with, like jules run sunday.

Add those 93 penalty yards against jacks and the 3 interceptions and 1 fumble and that's a lot of negative plays that can be fixed; that game could have been a lot different!

Penalties and turnovers killed the Boys that game!
