I think I'll always be interested if we have a player there who is doing well. This year we didn't. The guys we sent were not so hot.jman;1537799 said:I lost all interest in the World League / NFL Europe or what ever it was when they changed the name to NFL Europa.
Maybe they can follow suit and change the World Bowl to the Europa Bowl. Kinda sounds like a fancy toilet bowl.

adamknite;1537930 said:lolZ, the first 5 posts or so of that ES thread sounded ok. Like people just genuinely interested in how the player was doing. Sorta like how it was around here when Henson was in NFL:e. Then i suddenly turned and went into "OMG, he's so amazing." It's pretty funny the drastic change that took place in such a short time.

You are correct, it started out normal. You had posters who were probably watching him play for the first time this season. By the end, he was fetching a first round choice, kicking Todd Collins and Mark Brunell out of the way and threatening Jason Campbell's standing on the football team.
It was very typical of them however. Once a Commander, the talent becomes magnified a hundred fold.
adamknite;1537946 said:Commander fans are definetly strange bunch. I have no problem admitting that I'm a completely biased homer at times, but that's nothing compared to the year round blinding homerism these ES guys show.

This is one instance (and probably the only one) where the NFL could actually learn something from Major League Baseball.
Baseball has more worldwide appeal, and doesn't need leagues in Japan and Mexico to generate interest and farm talent. I think the NFL is trying to catch up to that in Europe.stasheroo;1537982 said:I still think the NFL would be much better off devoting its' time and resources to a minor league system based in the United States rather than wasting their time and money on World League/NFL Europe/NFL Europa.

Alexander;1537984 said:I doubt that happens. Why I do not know.
Goodell's pet cat is worldwide expansion. I would see him putting teams on foreign soil long before he would invest in anything domestically.

What the hell are you talking about?
I don't understand what soccer has to do with baseball having more worldwide appeal than football.
I gotta agree with you on this Alexander. I don't think we took it seriously and that bothers me. Teams that take it seriously will find soem diamonds in the rough, while we just use it as a means to comply with the league mandate.Alexander;1537912 said:I do not believe we took it seriously.
Anyone here think Remi Ayodele, Tony Curtis or John Saldi had even a remote chance to make this team?
I would have preferred we sent others who have something to develop, like Matt Baker, Quincy Butler, Demarius Bilbo, Junior Glymph, Jamaica Rector, Jerhame Urban and Joey Thomas.
I understand there are some cases where we feel we can do more with them in an offseason program, but there is only so much that can accomplish as some just need to play and perhaps show more than they can in practices.
We used to do a better job with it. Now, NFL Europa appears to be where we send players to die.

Frankfurt Galaxy 28, Hamburg Sea Devils 37
Apparently the skins QB, Casey Bramlet had a good year.

You mean how Skins fans assume that all Cowboys fans are ignorant hicks?firehawk350;1538139 said:I hate how everyone here acts like every Commanders fan is like the guys at ES. They named themselves extreme for a reason it seems. I don't like it over there either because it's so totalitarian.
Personally, I am intrigued by Bramlet but I see NFL Europa (I feel gay just typing that name) as a bit like a less talented version of college, if they did well then it might translate into NFL success. Might...
Anyways, most of the Skins fans I know are rooting for him to take the 3rd string QB and maybe second when Brunell retires.
Do you want me to dig up the Drew Henson threads of last year to show you some of you were almost as fanatical about Drew Henson?
Hostile;1538175 said:You mean how Skins fans assume that all Cowboys fans are ignorant hicks?
Please.
Take your sanctimony somewhere else.
Oh, and go ahead and dig up the Henson threads. He had as many detractors as he had supporters. All you will be doing is making our point.
