Does anything even matter?

Parcells turned a perennial 5-11 team into 10-6 division champs in one season with mostly the same players. Then Jerry started asserting himself again, shoving players he didn't want down his throat and he left. Cupcake Wade and Garrett took a sure Super Bowl team with HFA in the playoffs and coached them to one and done the next year.
Parcells said he didnt leave because of TO. what other player did jerry force on Bill

That was the polite politician way instead of saying what he really thought.
Why would he lie? Worried he wont get in the ring of honor? Lol. He said he was mentally drained. He gave an actual answer. Wasnt some political weasel garrett answer so i will take Bill at his word.

Seriously, does it matter who the next head coach is? Does it matter who the next assistant coaches are? Does it matter who we draft in the first round, or the second round, or the third round? Does it matter who we sign in free agency? Does it matter what players we re-sign to extensions? Does it matter who we place the franchise tag on? Does anything even matter if Jerry doesn’t get rid of this stupid country club, soft *** atmosphere around this football team???????????
We all have to understand something about this team and its owner.

He decided to buy the team and decided to make his money with it.

It's his right.

And the team wants to make its contracts with the owner and gets some of the benefits.

See Aikman, Jimster, Irvin, Moose, Romo and numerous others in broadcasting still enjoying celebrity in the NFL by their association with Jerrah and the team.

We all forget this is merely entertainment for us and making livings for others.

That's it. Do not confuse your fandom with the reality of the financial world of the NFL.

You must learn to look at one thru clear glass and the other thru rose colored glass and know the difference.

Then why do I pass on so many other things to watch the Cowboys every Sunday. Why do I spend 3 days watching every minute of the draft just to see who the Cowboys take. Why do I fight for Cowboys pride while living in the middle of Eagle land. Why do I listen to sports radio and spend hours on chat forums supporting this team. Why do i buy Cowboys gear to show off my team? WHY? WHY? WHY?

nope

Nope. He's the real problem and he's too stupid to realize it.

I don't think he cares if he is the problem. He knows it but he makes hundreds of millions a year. Worth billions. Owns arguably the most popular and profitable team in the world. He got his Super Bowl rings early on. He flat out just doesn't care.

No...Jerry Jones has killed the vibe in Dallas. It happened the day he felt jilted by Jimmy and his staff.

....one positive take from this is Jerry is heading towards mid-70s'. The clock is ticking and chances are getting slimmer of him seeing a Lombardi again. That might propel him to shut up and let the HC kick some ***.

Probably not until Jerry dies, but there's always the very slim chance a new HC can ignite some kind of spark despite Jerry's meddling and culture.

It won’t matter in the long run but a competent HC can be a short-term fix, might even get to a SB. What’s most important is getting Garrett out of Dallas, worry about the rest later

Yes, it matters a ton.

Parcells may have said that, but he clearly wasn't happy with TO. Other players: Eddie George, Peerless Price, Mike Vanderjagt (making Parcells keep two kickers) were all Jerry projects.

It matters from the standpoint that if the revenue streams into the corporation start to decline something will have to be done. Corporations are either growing or they are in decline. Jerry is smart though. He's configured the revenue streams into the corporation (the Death Star is a good example) in such a way that postseason success by the Cowboys is not specifically required to keep that money coming in. He just needs to keep hope alive and building that brand during the regular season and that's normally enough.

Jerry looks at the Cowboys Empire he has created and says to himself, "How can anyone look at all this and NOT call it wildly successful?" And it is wildly successful. Just not in terms of postseason football success.

But Jerry Jones won't live forever. Hope is a fickle bride. The shine will tarnish on the Death Star and eventually won't be the draw it is today. And Stephen Jones does not command the same level of gravitas his father enjoys. The face of the corporation will change.

We just need to hang on until those days arrive and The Corporation begins a real decent due to its lack of ability to generate success on the field of play.

The warning signs are there. The Cowboys have always been a "Star Power" driven marketing juggernaut. Its a large part of what fuels their hope driven brand. But Tony Romo is gone. Demarcus Ware is gone. Jason Witten never should have returned and will be gone. Where are the new "Stars"? Dak and Zeke? Not likely. They're just not that good.

So we'll see.

Bingo! He was being polite but he saw jerrah not keeping his part of the agreement and getting bold again once the tuna got them winning again after those 3 straight 5-11 seasons.
