I dont think he needs to be the starter. I think we need to start Choice and Jones then bring in Barber for the pounding after the defense is gassed..

I'm glad to see that more and more fans are starting to see the value in Choice. Hopefully we do something with him before he slips away and starts contributing to another franchise.

Wouldn't it be something if that chance came against a franchise that had that happen to them (Turner to Atl.)

  • -- Phillips: Marion Barber Won't Be Benched --
    Fri Dec 11, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
  • The Dallas Morning News reports since rushing for 124 yards in Week 2 against the New York Giants, RB Marion Barber has had more than 60 yards rushing in just two of his last nine games. He had 99 yards on 20 carries vs. Washington and 61 yards on 14 carries against Oakland on Thanksgiving. But there seems to be some clamoring for Barber to return to his closer's role he had in his first three seasons and let either RB Felix Jones or Tashard Choice to start. Not going to happen, according to HC Wade Phillips. "Marion's strong at the first of the game and at the last of the game that's why you substitute for him during the game," Phillips said. "If you're just starting the first of the game and playing through the game and not play anybody else he would wear down a little bit but he's able to carry the load. We want the power guy early in the game to start out to physically attack the other team, I think, and you want the same thing at the end of the game. Plus, he's our best back. I think you want your best players to be out there to start the game and finish."
So there you have it, you push Pillsbury's belly and he speaks...:)

all he has to do is look at the front page and see the topic being driven into the ground.

So the HC says this is the way it will be? I like it, unlike some I have no issue with Barber starting. I would like to see guys like Felix and Choice a bit more but when it comes to all around play at the RB spot I think Barber still have the edge

Choice does not need to start.

He is the nickel back and razorback.

Barber is very good at breaking tackles and preventing lost yardage plays.

Choice on the other hand has gained 0 or less yards on 4 of his last 6 carries.

What we need to do is friggin run block.

I remember back we "should" have started Troy Hambrick....
