Does DeMarco Murray remind anyone else of Fred Taylor?

When DeMarco first broke onto the scene last year I was intrigued with his running style, a high-cut runner with a combination of power, straight-line speed, wiggle, vision, and uncanny ability to make guys miss in the hole... a grouping that you rarely see packaged together. As many of us die-hard football fans do, I tried to think of a RB from the past that reminded me of DeMarco. After now seeing a good amount of games with Murray, I see many similar traits he shares with former Jacksonville great Fred Taylor... who was one of the most well-rounded backs of his era. A workhorse that still had homerun ability every time he got into the secondary. In fact, I can't but help but think I'm seeing flashbacks of Taylor every time Murray touches the ball now.

Here's a highlight vid on Taylor from his heyday:

Taylor had more wiggle. Murray is really a one cut back.

I kinda feel like Taylor was shiftier and more compact than Murray. Murray seems like more of a downhill guy to me.

I think he runs like foster

This..I've said it a few times..

His one cut style.. Stick your foot in the ground and change direction is identical to Arian Foster

IMO, this is both RBs signature move

We just got a Deshaun Foster reference on Cowboys Zone!

I think Murray is already better than Deshaun Foster, though. Haven't seen Foster run in years, so I don't know if I could make a comparison :p

I think he finishes runs like Eddie George in his prime.

Duhh.......I don't know why I thought DeShaun Foster, lol.

Though they do have similar body and style but Foster flamed out so maybe not a good comparison.

Taylor was certainly more powerful and appeared to have a little more wiggle to him. The body types are similar though.

I have to say, I was skeptical of Murray coming into the season. We've seen runningbacks come off the bench after a few games and tear it up during their rookie season, only to never amount to anything. I'm looking at you, Julius Jones and Tashard Choice!

But game one of 2012 has been very encouraging. Lets hope he keeps it up.

He reminds me of Peterson without the 5th gear.

I agree with this comparison. He's like Peterson minus the superhuman attributes.

Maybe a little Curtis Martin in him.
