I was wondering this weekend, in between reading medical journals and books on rocket surgery, why ESPN would list Drew Bledsoe and Aaron Brooks as "key losses" for the Cowboys and Raiders.

One guess is that an intern made those graphics. Anothers is that ESPN does not know glad the teams were see to see them go.

"Key addition" for Cowboys was listed as O lineman Davis, so on that count ESPN was correct.

Am I missing anything? Why would those two be key losses for either team?

I see that every year. I scratch my head and go "that was a key loss" for whatever team it was.

What about Al Johns...

You're right, we didn't lose much else.

Good point!

al johnson would have been a more appropriate fit in the "key losses" category

So while I don't necessarily care wht ESPN thinks I do think it was odd for so-called experts to write that Bledsoe was a key loss. Bledsoe became a so-so player in his last days with the cowboys.
On the extreme, ESPN wrote that Aaron Brooks was a key loss. Now that is completely odd, because the Raiders could not wait to get rid of this horrible QB. So that shows a complete lack of knowledge on ESPN's part.

Assuming you care about the Cowboys, you did stop in to ESPN to check out the cowboys' foturnes, right?
Right? :D

They did it for every team.

So in that spirit they had to list a name or names for each team under the heading Key losses or Key Additions.

What other name besides Bledsoe could they put as a Key loss...or just loss?

There was just no other name of note to put down and since they had to have a name they used Bledsoe.

My answer to your question will cost you $10.99 and your rocket surgery book. You can deduct the shipping and handling from the $10.99 ;) :p:

I agree...when I saw that key losses take I laughed as much as I do when I watch the NFL Network commercial with Roy W at the childrens playgroundswing and the narrator saying--'Roy Williams covers more ground than just about anyone in the NFL.."
..WOW!

Just buy me a much cheaper present when my birthday comes up.

Further, I recommend that next year ESPN just write: Players they didn't want and Players they really wanted.
Player they didn't want: Bledsoe
Player they really wanted: Davis

And please don't make fun of rocket surgery. We in Farmers Branch take it seriously.

That's not what they are saying out here in AZ. They all think he's Pro Bowl bound.

I think it's a good thing Bledsoe was our "key loss." I'd much rather have him be our key loss than say Willis McGahee or Adalius Thomas.

When you need to blow your nose, you ask for Kleenex, even if that isn't the brand name available.

Same principal, recognizable names.
