Does Garrett survive if Skins win division?

I know everyone is assuming the Skins are done but their remaining schedule is against 4 teams that currently have losing records. I don’t see it happening, but them finishing 10-6 is not out of the question.

Our schedule is not so bad either, but a loss vs the Eagles would make things very iffy.

After watching last nights game and seeing stats like 78% chance of winning the division, would Jerry can Garrett if we blow this opportunity?

Hey man, I am just enjoying the win. A Garrett and Dak haters seems foolish today. When the team watches the film they we realize they can improve. The sky is the limit, don’t mess with the mojo.

If Dallas does not win the division then We can have that discussion

Would that make you root for that outcome?

No, I’d like to see this team make the playoffs.

I’m curious because everyone has their hopes up so much, that anything less than winning the division would seem like a massive failure.

These postgame comments got me wondering some:

After referring to Saints coach Sean Payton as a “great coach” and adding “underline great coach,” Jones said this about the job Garrett has done: “Well, he’s won a big game tonight. I’ll just leave it at that. He won a big game tonight.”

Jones was later asked whether he was trying to be conservative in his praise of Garrett. Jerry apparently was flummoxed by the question.

“What?” Jones told reporters. “What? I’m not. Give him everything you should give him for having just beaten the top-rated team in the NFL. You’re the wordsmith. Give it to him. I’m serious. Give it to him, yes. Because we know how tough it is when it goes the other way. But give that to him, for sure.”

Jones could be hedging a bit because there’s still a chance that 7-5 becomes 7-6 next week against the Eagles and 7-7 a week after that at Indianapolis, with no guarantee that 9-7 nails down a playoff berth and potentially forces Jerry’s hand, if the Cowboys end up not earning a branch on the playoff tree.

In my opinion, he's rightfully praising him but intentionally not guaranteeing anything, nor should he. I'd say he's handling it just right, which is pretty rare.

As long as the guys keep responding to Garrett he is going to be here. Say what you want, the guys respond and listen to Garrett.

Don’t care who they play, I can assure you the other teams don’t have Colt McCoy as QB

I’m enjoying the win too. I just think it’s a bit premature to see us as huge division favorites. The game against the Eagles could be our season.

If Dallas doesn't win the division he is gone. I would be very surprised if they don't win the division at this point. I would also need a home playoff win, followed by a great showing in the divisional round to keep him.

I'll always pull for the Cowboys to win, regardless of the things that happen or don't happen in games. There are likely worse things that might happen than Garrett being kept around, though. To me, Linehan is mainly the guy in danger of being jettisoned if things don't go as hoped. We'll see.

Let's just enjoy the win for now, OK? The rest will surely be taken care of in due time, whether we approve of things as fans or not. Right now, it's simply time to savor a great win and look forward to what good might come beyond that. Have we not been awaiting something like this for two decades? I'd venture to say it couldn't have happened at a better time than when all of us have been longing for relief for so long. It's happy times, folks! Rejoice!

Always pay attention to what's NOT being said......other words, Jerry is saying Garrett won a big one tonight but he's lost some big ones too. Don't see it happening but IF somehow we lose 3 of the next 4 and miss the playoffs, I think Garrett's a goner.

The Commanders are going to beat the Eagles twice?

I'd be surprised.

So would I. Like I said, I don’t think it’s a likely scenario, but a fascinating one. Losing the division now, after such a big win would be worse for Garrett than had we finished the season 6-10.

I have a feeling Garrett will always survive. Remember that Twilight Zone movie with the Hitchiker that wouldn't die?

Awaiting this for two decades? A 7-5 team?

Geez, the win last night was great but you act like we’re SB favorites now.

2 of those teams with losing records are the Eagles. I know they are a shadow of their former selves but Washington lost their starting QB. The Commanders are less of a threat because of it.
