That so many on here are about to jump off a cliff at this point?

I mean isn't McNabb one of the most overhyped/overrated QB's in the NFL (according to many on this board) and yet he smoked us once again?

Isn't this the board that had the Eagles completely written off as cellar dwellers?

Who scoffed repeatedly at McNabbs comments about Philly being a Super Bowl team?

Typical overreaction of fans that get beat by their hated enemy who was supposed to be weak - at least in their minds

As long as you have an exceptional QB, a good system and compotent coaches, then you always have a chance in this league.

Alot of people buried Philly and said their dominance over the NFC East was over with.

Every year, you always hear about how Philly is on the downswing. It's either they dont have a running game, Buckhalter and Westbrook got hurt, or they lost Hugh Douglas, or they lost Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincent, or they lost Terrell Owens...etc etc etc.

And just about every year they seem to have a solid season. As long as you have good and consistent play at QB, solid coaching staff and a Defense, then you will always have a chance.

But I do laugh at people who say McNabb is overrated.

I always look at it like this, when trying to judge if someone is overrated or not.

If "Plug in anyone you think who is overrated __________" gets cut from his team, how many other teams could he start for?

Theoretically speaking, if McNabb were cut by the Eagles today, I think he could start in alot of other places.

Nope said it last week. I knew this was going to be a tough game on the road and while I'm disappointed in the play it is one game.

mcFlabb is over rated. He chokes in the championship games. It was rookie mistakes that gave McFlabb most of his yds and big plays on Sunday. 2 of those big plays could have been picks if our guys had been on the ball. He completed SIX PASSES IN THE ENTIRE SECOND HALF. He did not get any good 3rd down plays in the second half at all. So yes he is over rated.

After 5 years of watching the reactions, no, it doesn't surprise me any more.

Wake me up if and when McNabb ever wins the big one. He is one of the biggest chokers so far in this decade. I could care less if they can beat teams in the regular season with a bunch of no names surrounding him.

If Lombardis were given based on regular season performances, McNabb would have four in his trophy case.

And is exactly the reason other teams fans call Cowboy fans bandwagon Jumpers .....

If we are not the best team in the League by week 1 ....... we suck.
If we do not have a hall of fame QB/RB/WR tandem ..... we suck.

 We are the most spoiled fans in the world

Keep deluding yourself. Like Mickgreen said - if Mcnabb was released by the Eagles tommorrow I would bet you 25 - 28 teams would be calling for him to come start for them.

In a way, yes. I find it unimagineable how simple some really are. The pitchforks never leave their side. Never to be put away, always at the ready.

A lot of truth in that ya know.

You know what, Marino, Manning, Fouts and many others have not won the big one. They were still great QB's.

This is pretty darn true. We've got a spoiled fan base that has experienced the bottom for longer than ever. Now not only are they asking for the ghosts of the past to be resurrected, but they want it done with no mistakes or hiccups.

Cowboys fans need to learn how to ride the wave and relax. Enjoy the ride... it's a long season.

They never dry heaved in a potential game-winning drive in the Super Bowl.

I'll take Mcnabb choking on one game than Bledsoe throwing ints in every game. I will say this again. McNabb is a great QB. He is not overrated. Yes he choked on a few games in the playoffs, but Bledsoe continues to choke on about 5-8 games a year.

When did I even come close to comparing McNabb and Bledsoe?

And give me his 5-8 choke jobs from last year. I'd love to see this.

Yes, and in many ways they were also chokers. I saw many playoff games where a PO'd Marino would fling a pass that looked like it was shot out of a cannon into the opposing DB's chest, resulting in an INT at the end of the game.

I'm not saying that Bledsoe is anywhere near as good as McNabb, Marino, Fouts, or Manning, but I am not buying into the Donovan McNabb hype.

McNabb has had opportunity after opportunity, including a chance to win the big one. He came up lame. That is enough to prove that he lacks the testicular fortitude when a BIG game is on the line (week 5 against the Cowboys does not qualify as a "BIG" game IMO).

McNabb should have had his Man card revoked after the SB loss to the Patriots.

McNabb was overweight back at that point and his conditioning very well may have not been what it should have been. He could have even been dehydrated. Many reasons for dry heaving that may very well not had to do with nerves or choking.

That said, they would not have sniffed the Superbowl or the NFC championship without McNabb.
