Does it seem to anyone else that Aikman..

..actually says a lot more negative things about the Cowboys than positive things and that he almost seems to be against them? I have thought this for a while and have mentioned it to some of my friends and they think the same thing.. I mean, I know he is supposed to be neutral as a broadcaster, but it seems that he tries so hard to be "neutral" that he comes off as a Cowboy hater..

on the flip side, I absolutely love Emmitt being such a Cowboys homer and going out of his way to show his love for the Boys as a broadcaster on NFL Network.. say what you want that Aikman is a more professional broadcaster, but I love hearing Emmitt talk about his Boys.. and I think that Moose and Irvin both show their love for the Boys, I love that they dont hide it either.. they arent as adamant about it as Emmitt, but they make it obvious.. come on, whats the big deal, Aikman? everyone knows that you are a Cowboy, they wont hold it against you.. they dont hold it against Emmitt, Moose, or Irvin..

So what? Aikman has high expectations. He's still a huge fan and just wants to win. how can you hate him for that?

I hate listening to Troy and Moose does it too, not as bad as Troy tho..

I tell you what I cant stand is when the espn sunday night crew call the game . and i have to hear theisman , mcquire and praise a player for every single thing he does. like last night carr was freaking throwing awful and they were making him sound like the next coming of john elway. when vick plays there at there very best, sometimes it almost sounds like there a bunch of queers. seriously though , they hype up players sometimes, that i seriuously turn off the sound . i cant listen to them , they are awful announcers.

Yeah, he does and IMO it's because he doesn't want to sound like a homer. I mean we all know Joe Theismann is the biggest one out there and i think Aikman wants to avoid any of that.

Judging from your posts that I've read from the past few days, my money, as a matter of fact, my life savings, would be on this one.

Here is one of the things he does that may be an example of what you are talking about... Ware chases Barber down from the backside and instead of first of all saying good play on Ware's part, the thing Troy emphasizes is that he expects the Giants will exploit Ware from now on and run some bootlegs to his side.

Troy did the exact same thing in the San Diego game when Henry broke up a couple of passes. Instead of saying it was a good play on Henry's part, which it was, Troy immediately emphasized that Henry was "squatting" on the route and he expected San Diego to go to a double move and expose Henry.

Now, I'm not saying Troy is wrong in his analysis, it's just he looks for the downside of a play or what a player is doing, instead of giving credit for a good play. He is right about the Giants possibly running some bootlegs or the Chargers going downfield, but it comes across as negative.

Actually, I don't think it's him trying to cover any homerism for the Boys, it's just the way Troy views everything. His demeanor and personality have always struck me as a "glass half-empty" guy as opposed to a "glass half-full" guy.

........:hammer:

well then Irving it's a good thing I'm being judged by you and you're using my posts as a basis... I almost had my feelings hurt

I think Aikman is very candid. I like his analysis a lot.

I invite anyone to go and look at your posts from the past few days and I guarantee 99% of them will see the same thing that I do...

lol, and I'm not going to disagree with you (re beer and/or boredom)

however, that's just a small sample size

I'm not an idiot or whatever else you were attempting to imply

Yeah, he's trying to prove he's objective, by not being objective. In a bid to come across as unbiased, he has become biased. Doesn't make sense to me. Just call it as you see it Troy, and let the chips fall where they may. That's the best way to maintain your integrity.

You need new friends...

I turn down the volume when Troy is doing a Cowboys game.

He's an anti-homer.

Aikman doesn't want to come across as being a homer, so he is trying extra hard. It seems that a lot of fans think he should strip down to his Cowboys boxers and dance when we score a TD (not you in particular, but just in general).

I think Aikman is great, but I still think he is pissed how he went out and how the FO of this team was at that time. He gave alot to this team and the fans and he was not treated well his last season.

the fans treated him worse in the end than the organization...Troy isnt stupid, he knew what was going to happen...he could have dramatically restructured his deal if he wanted to continue playing but chose not to

and the fact that he's never suited up elsewhere shows he knew he was done...back and knee problems ended his career more than the concussions IMO, because the back and knee issues robbed him of velocity on the football

I think that Troy is just being honest. Positive or negative he is telling you the straight poop. I apreciate his honestly myself. I would rather hear that then some feel good fluff stuff.

I know I don't have to read the posts and all...but hasn't this been discussed to death? And anyways who cares? I can never understand fans who only want to hear certain things. I for one, love it when everyone is against Dallas. All the better to rub it in when we win.

i agree I hate when Aikman does the Cowboys, he is very quick to be critical of them, and to make things worse he worships the Eagles.
