Does Jerry Care?

Jerry wants to do it his way. meaning he wants to give Garrett chance after chance to get to the NFC Championship game and win the Superbowl, because having to let go of Garrett means Jerry admitting to himself that his ten years of investment and loyalty to Garrett was misplaced and a huge waste of time that has cost the Cowboys. Jerry wants to prove that he was correct in sticking by Garrett for this long.

Something hit me today and for a brief moment I had some hope for the future of the boys. Jerry never wants to be in a position to fire Jason, with Jason's contract expiring, he wants to give Jason the opportunity to state at years end, how he wants to "Step away" for a while, spend some time with his family..blah blah blah... so it looks like his choice to move on, or move to the front office somehow... I am holding on to this hope....false hope or not...

Around sports you have powerhouse franchises that people love to hate on. Teams like the GS warriors, the Yankees and the Patriots. When your one of these franchises you have to be mentally tough. You have to be prepared to get the opponents best effort regardless of record.

Those teams put themselves in the best position to win. They know winning is what separates being a dominant franchise and what we have become. We are the fakest "powerhouse team" out there. Maybe our players are mentally tough but our coaches obviously aren't.

We are a joke. The media rips us on a constant basis, other teams ridicule our simplistic scheme. The refs have no respect for our coaches as shown this season. We are one of only a couple teams not to make a title game in the past quarter century. Shorter term several teams in our division have won SB's. Other teams have rebuilt far quicker than us and had success.

I used to think Jerry Jones cared about us as fans, that he was just some crazy guy obsessed with winning. Its worse though, he wants to win, but it has to be his way. End of the day he's still got his money he's got his SB's. Its us a fans that are in the trenches and have to suffer. Why do we have to endure this?

We can do this dance every year, every heart attack game. The truth of the matter is ... Jerry Jones does not care about winning another Super Bowl.
Let that sink in.
Let's just look at the facts:
Jerry is already a Hall of Famer. He owns the most well known sports franchise in the USA, if not the world. He bought the team for ~$150 million dollars and not it's book value is $5 Billion.
He already has 3 SB wins which he has convinced a good portion of fans to believe .. that he was the reason for the wins.
He needs the Cowboys to be between 7-9 & 10-6 every year. As long as they are good enough to compete for a playoff spot and the game gets flexed at the end of the year he is happy. He wan'ts Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith to be losing their mind every Monday. He is a showman through and through. Winning a SB is not even something he cares about. He is our very own Vince Mcmahon.
As the saying goes believe what I do vs what I say.
Jerry fired a HOF caliber coach in 1994 after winning back to back SB's. ( please spare me the Jerry apologists.. please you do not have a leg to stand on)
Jerry only wants to win if he singularly is the reason, the brains behind the success. He does not want a SB unless he gets the credit. Go back to the 1995 SB win.. ."We did it Jerry, we did it.. our way".
Jerry is stuck in his own confirmation bias, his own echo chamber. He has won the game of life, he has defeated Jimmy Johnson his greatest hire as well as his nemesis. Jimmy is not in the ring of honor, nor is he a HOF'er yet.

If you were Jerry Jones and you wanted to win what would you do after 25 years? What has Bob Kraft done, what has Jeffery Lurie done? What do the Rooneys do?
The one advantage the super rich owners like Jerry have is... there is not salary cap on coaches/ front office/ innovation.
You and I live and die by the results every week, getting angry and upset week after week of stupid coaching decisions. Jerry Jones & family don't care about SB's. This is purely them putting on a show. It's literally entertainment to them.
You don't think Jerry could have signed Dak this off season? Do you think 28- 34 million really makes a difference to Jerry.. ( please don't literally answer that question). It's all this week per week speculation of sign Dak now, dont sign Dak now.
Sports entertainment at its finest. We have all been duped by the Cowboys Truman show. I know this for a fact but I still get sucked in.

Jerry doesn’t care what the fans think. I think he cares about the optics. Wins and losses, he will care when they impact his optics.

He knows what the issues are. He doesn’t care enough about football to change them.

Love your avatar by the way. Ever see the video of Bruce Lee playing ping pong with just a pair of Nunchucks?

The first time I ever saw this, my jaw dropped.

I don't know if that video is legitimate or not. Either way guys like Bruce Lee humble us mere mortals. He was some sort of mutant strain of human. Simply amazing.

This!!

Jerry is a business man, first and foremost.

I don't think he cares as much as he pretends too. It wouldn't be good business for owners to say they don't care about winning.... fans would not like that & revenue would go down. I think he cares some but if he really cared he never would have gotten rid of Jimmy Johnson. And at some point he would have hired better coaches.... there is no salary cap on coaches. Offer Bellicheat $50,000,000 a year. Why not you have a billion dollar business.

You also have to ask will a guy like Bellichek come here? Bill's not coming to Dallas to be a puppet. A guy like Bellichek will either want full roster control and/or bring his own GM. Jerry has only made such concessions once, and that's because the new stadium was in play.

LLLOOOLLL, DC let me know when you want to speak at my dad's Church because you preach nothing but the TRUTH and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!

It’s probably time to try another Puppet. Everyone seems to be tiring of this one.

Hopefully the change will be greater than at OC this year.
We won't truly know about the oc until Garrett is gone.........his unmistakable fingerprints still show up from time to time.

BAM! Nailed it. He didn't like being 2nd in command when the tuna was here and once he got what he wanted all of a sudden the tuna was gone.

Jerry cares about 1 thing...

Perfectly played!

He doesn't care enough to get a legit GM in here and operate like other teams do.......he draws the line there........he would rather lose than give that up.

He wants to claim responsibility for 6. If he were to hire a strong, independent coach he would have to share the spotlight.

When Jerry fired Jimmy it became abundantly clear that to him there is no difference between not winning and winning with others getting the credit.

As everyone is noting, Jerry wants to win but only with Jerry in total control.

To Jerry's credit, he does learn. He is better at drafting. He is better at not giving out stupid contracts. He is better at not trading for washed up players. His Garrett experience is an overreaction to the period of time where he replaced the coach every 3 seasons. He figured out that the grass isn't always greener. Unfortunately, he hitched his cart to the wrong horse. Hopefully the lesson he learns this time is that tactics do matter. You can't clap and cheer your way to victory.
