This team is better suited having PT Barnum as a coach on staff...

Does JG sit there and wonder what if I had fired Rod and given the D to Eberflus or does Jerry think about it? Watching this Colts D i know I've thought about it a few times. I wanted it to happen like a year or two before Matt left. Oh well cant do nothing but think about what could of been kinda like with Sean and Zimmer.
It was widely reported at the time that Eberflus was offered the DC position and that Marrinelli would have been moved to a consultant position much the same as Kiffen. Eberflus turned it down because of his respect for and friendship with Marrinelli. So no, if Jerry was thinking about him he would and should have brought him in for an interview for the head coaching position last year. Regardless they did everything they possibly could have done to keep him at the time. It’s amusing that fans, suddenly notice a coach that left here 3 seasons ago!

I've paid attention to Matt's career since Ryan brought him here as a LB coach always thought he had potential.

It was a mistake to fire JasonG. (Even though he wasn’t fired. Just not rehired. )

The current HC is a disaster.

Nice post.

I’ve said that for a while. If Red doesn’t wonder, I definitely do. I talk about Eberflus with my Colts friend sometimes.

He offered the coordinator position to Eberflus and Marinelli was an board with it. He chose to move on

Not sure what makes anyone think that when people have success after leaving here that it could have happened here.

Different time. Different place. Different people.
Different players.

We have to agree that most players we let go rarely play well once they leave.

Beasley yes..

DeMarco Murray..no.

Dez..no.

Damascus Ware..yes.

Jimmy Johnson..not as a coach.

So pretty much we make the right calls and will still have a little magic to come back.

Dallas will never be a defense first team under Jerry. He won't allow it. Defense doesn't sale jersey's or seats.

That's not true at all.

The reason is simply because Jerry isn't capable of putting the proper pieces in place for defense (players and coaching staff) because he sucks as a GM.

I think he mostly wonders, “what If Jerry had let me continue to call my own offense and let me be in charge of everything instead of doing all the contracts and decisions on his own?” I think any coach who is confident in himself would have wanted complete authority, whether he’s right or wrong.

the offer was made, but made too late. eberflus declined saying it was out of respect to marinelli, but i think he just wanted out of town.
And who can blame him... he probably realized he would have been Garrett's next Scapegoat in Waiting.

Eberflus sounds like something you pump into a football to make it fly further.
Manufactured by, Brady Inc.! :lmao:
Maybe JG wonders about the disastrous results he gave this team for 10 years. No deep playoff run, and no top draft picks .The worst of both worlds.
Yet some of our fanbase want MM & company fired being they haven't fixed Garrett's mess in a few games. Idiotic!
