If we just had to have a corner, we should have drafted Asante Samuel Jr, considering he was the better prospect and had NFL heritage, vs Joseph, who has little experience at the position.
If Joseph busts, drafting athletic potential over a player who was already an accomplished CB is going to look incredibly stupid.
Based on SJ comments after the second day....trying to deal up for Campbell....and that it wouldn't have mattered if Moehrig lasted one more pick....tells me they were focused on that position.
It's my opinion that better players were left on the board because they wanted a corner there, and Joesph has to play pretty well to make me not feel that way.
There were character questions about his desire to play football from the word go....and I can't say I'm impressed thus far.
If he is missing the game due to a death in the family, which doesn't often happen in the league although I'm sure it's happened to plenty of players, then just say so. Especially in this case.
The reality is that he just isn't all that important to the team, so whatever.
The doesn't do much for me not liking the pick, and Ive been around long enough to see where this is all headed......and the team deserves it for handling pick 44 the way they did.
