I for one think it does.

Beyond dealing with Jerry's foolishness we have no leadership on this team.

The closest thing we have is Dak who I like he's a good guy he represents the franchise well.

But unfortunately he is not a wartime leader he is enough of a leader to get you to the playoffs.

We have no leaders Jerry's a carnival Barker we have no coach that you could call a leader.

We have some talented players that all play for themselves but they aren't leaders playing for the greater good of the team and winning the Super bowl.
They Play for themselves maximizing the short windows they have to make money winning Super bowls for the fans not really a priority.

When we won Super bowls and were great we had great leaders.

Jimmy Troy aikman emmitt Smith Michael Irvin Charles Haley.

I don't really think the greatness and leadership qualities of Tom Landry can even be fathomed by most of today's fans as he lived a life and a Time that most can't even comprehend.
Flying 30 bomber missions in world war II crash landing a plane saving his crew in a last ditch effort working the fuel switch on the plane.
Piloting a B-17 plane the same as his brother exploded in earlier in the war.
This was a leader whose reputation preceded him. He could evaluate and lead men appearing in five Super bowls and 20 consecutive winning seasons.

Now we barely have enough leadership to struggle for a participation trophy and an eight and eight season that our owner thinks is a winner.

It was no Cake Walk getting to a Super bowl back then when we had the best of the best as far as leadership was concerned in Tom Landry and Roger staubach.

It's certainly no wonder that we can barely sniff a wild card game with the self-serving business decision making individuals we employ now.

This entitled team is a far cry from the 70s and 90s dynasties.
It's why we can't get to a NFCCG.
It all starts at the top.

Dak has his flaws, but lack of leadership is not one of them
NFL history is rife with great leaders that didn’t sniff a Super Bowl
Field leaders don't have the authority to build rosters.

You have to look at the front office, scouting and coaching staffs for that.

It doesn't mean that in between the field lines and in the team areas field leaders can't exert their influence.

Dak’s the best leader they’ve had since Witten who was the best since Aikman and Irvin.
You are 100% right DAk is the best leader we have had since Witten.

That said Dak requires a good bit of help to be successful.

He is not a guy who puts on the cape in a playoff situation and elevates his team and makes them play above their heads.

Dak is a guy who can be successful if everyone else does their job.

At times a true leader has to do the impossible pull the rabbit out of the hat and overcome his teammates mistakes and elevate them in a playoff scenario.

Dak is not that guy

Yes it starts at the top and you have to have an owner that is willing to hire a dominant alpha coach step back and let him do his job.

Leadership starts with coaching Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson are perfect examples.

They knew how to evaluate players and motivate players to get the most out of them

Quinnen is a good start though. Came in and became a leader immediately. He'd be the first one in a long time
He could develop into a leader but we're going to need a defensive coordinator first to organize our talent and give them a plan.

As long as that retread from Chicago is here he will never reach his potential

I disagree. He’s put the team on his back his whole career and has propelled the team to the wins they’ve gotten. Without him, they would never have a winning season. He’s not elite because he doesn’t run much, but he’s a top 5 QB in the NFL. IMO.

lolololol.....no OL, RB or WR's have helped him? Ask Dak if he's had help over the years. Guys like Ty The Beard, Zach, Zeke, Witten, Lamb, Pickens in '25....on and on. But all you have is that Dak has carried the team. Fredrick, Zach and Ty retired protecting their QB. Man, you have said some stupid things on here, but this takes the cake. This dribble you mention is proof POSITIVE that you are NOT a Cowboys fan, and just a Dak fan

I can agree with that he has propelled the team to the wins that they've gotten.
And I don't think he is to blame for the wins they haven't gotten in the playoffs because the whole team played lousy in many of them.

But like I said a true leader has to sometimes do the impossible and make up for his team's mistakes and overcome them and elevate the whole team to a win.

When a player can do that he makes the whole team believe that they are never out of it and they all play above their heads till the end.

That's why Roger staubach will always be an NFL God and Dak will be considered a good quarterback that accumulated a lot of stats .

Beyond that his elite status has nothing to do with his running ability as it is above average he has 2,000 yards and 30 touchdowns compared to his predecessor who had like 600 yards and five touchdowns in his career.

We can agree to disagree. I’ve seen him single handedly put the team on his back and lead them to wins.

A leader has to be able to enforce consequences, and Jerry Jones has removed the ability for anyone underneath him at any level to do that.
Jerry doesn’t play, the players do so they have full control on the field during games. Not Jerry.

The rest of the team were watching from the bench. All by themselves...Dak is one bad...nevermind. Dak did it all by himself? lmao
