I found this interesting on a mock draft, most of you probably already seen this or know it but it says that he allegedly has ties to the Ryan family. This would explain his obsession wouldnt it?

I see nothing overly news shattering here. I've seen him say on a few occassions that he's known the kid forever. I'm not surprised, in the least, that hes high on him.

It's not like Mayock is way off here.

1. QB stock usually goes way up come draft day.

2. 6 of the last 7 first overall picks have been QB's.

3. In all likelihood the Fins are going to be stuck at picking #1 regardless if they want to or not. So who would you draft, a potential franchise QB or a tweener in Chris Long?

4. Chris Long played 2 gap technique 3-4 DE in college. In his latest workout he was down to 267 pounds and was tried out at LB given his size. He's likely not a speed rusher at 4-3 DE and is way too small to play 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT. He's also been worked as a LB, a position that he's never come close to playing before.

I'm not the biggest Mayock fan (I generally like him though), but if there's an obsession I don't get here it's the obsession a lot of draftnicks have with Chris Long. He could turn out to be a very good player in the end, but him going #1 overall is a reach IMO.

I actually played in 3 high school games against Chris Long. It's hard to imagine this guy going so high in the draft. He was a good player, but he didnt even come close to dominating. I played running back, and I was never worried about running to his side.

So he either improved a great deal in college, or just didn't play up to his talent level in high school.
