I have seen nothing with Mazi. I think he has had enough time. Although Dallas is so light at DT that they might not have any real options to replace him. Just malpractice that they fail to address that need.

before we cut a 1st rounder and my ego gets bruised, lets give it another year to see what the new staff can do with him.

Don't confuse will he make the team with should he make the team. Jerry won't admit screwing up that pick by cutting him and opening himself up to criticism when he can instead pretend how "great Mazi looks" or make some other excuse for why he has been a horrible failure but that he still was a good pick. Also, we really have no DT depth that would force the move. So, there is no doubt that Mazi makes the team

I say yes purely due to his contract and well the competition for his spot.

If they were to sign someone and then trade for another, then maybe I could see them trade him for another 1st round disappointment to not eat the 2026 salary hit

Yep, guaranteed contract plus we are thin at the position. I'd be pretty surprised if Mazi actually got cut. Right now I suspect they keep Mazi/Winfrey/OSA/Thomas and try to sneak Toia through to the PS. Winfrey/Toia looks like the real battle right now with it very open going into PS game 3.
