Does McC get more draft influence with his play calling?

I did not know that and what a strange thing for a HC to say.
He said something akin to that during the draft process which is lying time so take it for what it's worth.

Cowboys go by a committee approach and MM is definitely on that committee. Quinn is a coordinator and it is obvious that we scout players based on his scheme preference. It makes zero sense they won't do the same for his offense. Nevermind he is the head coach.

Remember supposedly Taco was Martinelli's pick. If this is true, I can't imagine them NOT giving Quinn just as much, if not more input.
Marinelli also didn’t want Floyd, which partly led to us drafting Frederick. So Jerry does consider the voice of his coaches. The problem with the Floyd pick is it revealed a disconnect in the draft room, as even Stephen Jones and Garrett were unaware of the switch.

He had no influence in the draft at Greenbay other than articulating needs. The same as in Arlington.

McCarthy is the perfect fit for Jerry, Stephen, and Will McClay. Lets see if he can keep his job now that he made Jerry get rid of Jason Garrett Jr. (Kellen Moore).
Moore was out already and Jerry knew he couldn’t keep him after next year, as he was the runner up for both the Panthers and Miami HC job. Firing Moore would have meant Jerry would have had to pay him for an extra year for nothing and Jerry doesn’t do that. He retained Garrett the last year, as his contract had 1 year left. He simply didn’t renew it.

San Diego had to wait for the Panthers interview, as they immediately fired Lombardi. Jerry already had to spend money to retain him.

It’s like saying MM convinced Jerry to not rehire his right hand man Joe Philbin.

Moore leaving just allowed folks to scapegoat him in this place.

I hope he has enough say to grab a G, TE and RB that can help day 1.

Revisionist History going on again. Kellen Moore was a Jerry Jones holdover McCarthy had to keep similar to Garrett being hired before the Head Coach, Son of a Bum. Nobody was going to hire Garrett as a HC back when he was an OC under Son of a Bum (i.e. Ravens). Nobody was going to hire Kellen Moore as a HC under McCarthy (i.e. Bosie St., Carolina, etc.). Only with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020-22 were the only years Mike McCarthy was not calling his own plays since 2000. That is 20 YEARS! Do you remember when they forced Paul Hackett on Tom Landry. It was the end of Days.

There was a power struggle during/after the 2019 season as Jon Kitna, QB Coach, guided Dak to his best statistical season and Kellen Moore was given the hype for the performance. Garrett of course was very familiar with Kitna (who practically won him the HC Job in Dallas when Romo went down again). He knew his job was threatened and brought Kitna in as QB Coach. Because of not making the playoffs Jerry Jones was forced to show Jason Garrett the door as HC. So even though McCarthy wanted Kitna (he is a disciple of Mike Martz and McCarthy and Martz are boys), he was not retained as QB coach because of the 2019 conflict between Kitna and Moore, and Jerry's love grooming of Kellen Moore. Jerry Dumbo GM Jones view Kellen Moore as the new Jason Garrett. He still does. So McCarthy days are number and Kellen Moore is in exile waiting to come back as Jerry Jones new Tom Landry (see Jason Garrett).

Jerry Dumbo GM Jones is playing Game of Thrones with his Arlington Jonesboys team Head Coaching position. Jerry Dumbo GM Jones stays on the Iron Throne.

Probably not. It’s just a matter of time until MM suffers a similar ending as others this era under Jethro.

And don’t count Moore out as returning as HC in a couple years if he has success with Herbert in LA.
No doubt Kellen Moore is the new Jason Garrett.

We’ll see how he does in LA but my hunch he’s much better than Garrett.

It’s difficult for me to measure in this dysfunctional toxic culture. Will get a better feel in LA.

I do wonder if part of the deal for him to take on this additional duty carried with it more influence in the war room?

Was he also part of the decision making process letting Elliott walk?

I do think the GM used this as a convincer to keep Quinn and most likely did in getting McC to replace Moore with himself.

If he did get more power in the war room, I can see OL in the 1st.
I think OL and RB are rounds 1-2.

LOL.. what are you even talking about?

Mike Martz didn’t run a West coast offense, he’s an Air Coryell guy. Jon Kitna played under that system with Martz and before that I’m Cincinatti and it’s the same system Jason Garrett ran when he was a play caller here and Kitna played under. And it’s the same system Linehan and Moore called plays under.

Mike McCarthy is a West Coast guy.

I never said that Jerry didn’t want Moore and McCarthy had to take him. Even Brian Schottenheimer is an Air Coryel disciple.

They aren’t changing the offense. Mike McCarthy is calling plays under the same offense.

What I stated is Moore was bouncing anyways. Guy was interviewing for head coaching jobs consistently and SD already wanted him once Lombardi was fired. He had 1 year left on his contract and no way Jerry was firing him, as he’d be on the hook for paying Moore for nothing, while Moore would have ended up with the job anyways. Moore was done in Dallas and left on his own terms.

Well were going to find out soon. Lets hope MM is true to his word about getting the running game going again. I think its safe to assume that getting rid of Zeke was definitely what MM wanted. WE know how much Jerry loved Zeke. Getting rid of Zeke was probably the first step in improving the running game.

I would not count out Eliott coming back.

I am not writing in a foreign language.

Martz, Jim Hostler, Norv Turner and Mike McCarthy all lasted one year at the helm of the San Francisco offense. While McCarthy and Turner left to take head coaching jobs with Green Bay and San Diego respectively, Martz and Hostler were fired for internal reasons.
Martz and McCarthy are boys being OC's that became HC's. Direct tie is Mike Nolan (if you want one). West Coast or Coryell systems, contract length, or hair color have nothing to do with Jerry Dumbo GM Jones boy love crush with Garrett and Moore. McCarthy was not going to have his replacement breathing on his back during his last year in Dallas.

As I stated before the only coach he hired that was not out of spite or necessity was Jason Garrett. The same will be Kellen Moore. Tex and Gil had a deal with Jimmy before Jerry to replace Landry, hired Switzer to spite Jimmy, hired Gailey to please the old Landry holdovers after the Switzer fiasco, hired Campo the Clown to spite them, hired Tuna to get his stadium, hired Garrett to be his Landry, hired Son of a Bum because of the no experience outcry, and hired McCarthy as his new placeholder for Kellen Moore.

Kellen Moore is on vacation in San Diego and will be back as HC of the Arlington Jonesboys and will get you as many Super Bowl title runs as the Jonesboys have had in the last 27 years...0

He gave us Nolan and Philbin.

We can trust his instincts. 8/
This is the best the roster has looked in 30 years. Jerry didn’t just mysteriously figure things out the past 3 years.
