Dak Prescott on if the Cowboys have figured out why their performances have been so different on the road compared to at home: “No. We haven’t. I don’t know if there is anything concrete, honestly. A lot of different aspects that go hand in hand, that go together. Different things you could say, maybe it’s this, maybe it’s that. At the end of the day, type of guy I am, conversations we have, they are all going to be excuses. We’ve just got to come out with the energy and maintain it throughout the game, regardless of the score, regardless if we’re down, the belief, the emotional discipline, maturity and competitiveness to not blink and enjoy when it’s you against the world. So, no.”

After the Cowboys lost 30-16 to the Broncos in 2021, then Denver DC Vic Fangio said: “Teams just haven’t played (Dallas) the right way.” With Fangio now the DC in Miami, Prescott was asked about Fangio having the blueprint for beating the Cowboys. “In 2021 maybe. I don’t think that blueprint’s gonna hold up.”

It’s a valid question. Fangio shut Dak down last time. He has the horses in Miami to do it again.

Will be a great test for the Dallas offense. After the stinker in Buffalo— beating a legit winning team with a great D on the road would go a long way to restoring some confidence.

That said— Miami 34 Dallas 24 lol

I remember both Dak and McCarthy talking after that Denver *** whoopin we took then.
Their arrogant "We hope that other teams play us like that."

And thus the legend of Dak's poor play against specific zone dee's was born.

Whether you think he still sucks against certain zone defenses is a pretty common topic for discussion both here and around the league.

The secret formula is to have really great players at all levels of your defense and be able to get pressure with 4 rushers while playing a heavy mix of cover 2/3/4. Bad news is that Miami as the talent to do that....Good news is that it shouldn't be a huge surprise when they try.

What's Daks record against Fangios defense? If we going off that one game, then that's enough evidence that Vic has his number

He can just watch game tape from Arizona, SF or Buffalo losses, in which we were shut down.

Why did you leave out the Eagles? They beat us too.

OH!! You conveniently left the Eagles out because we smoked them the second time we played them, so mentioning the Eagles would have crushed your "watch the game tape of the teams that beat Dallas" narrative.....

heres the blue print. because frankly, this is another stupid term.

it oinly depends on who plays better that day.

hell some teams have won with just kicking field goals. who plans to win that way?

do some coaches plan to win with a lucky touch down?

some times you even play good and 1 player just has a great day.

no science to it.

I have had this game circled when the schedule came out as they were going to face Fangio's defense again. They have played other DC's that come from his coaching tree with inconsistent success. They had great success against the Jets defense, but struggled against the Cardinals to name a few.

When teams use that robber in coverage that takes away the middle of the field, Dak and the passing offense really struggles. We saw this against both the 49ers and the Bills.
