Does Miami DC Vic Fangio still have the blueprint to shut down the Cowboys?

Why did you leave out the Eagles? They beat us too.

OH!! You conveniently left the Eagles out because we smoked them the second time we played them, so mentioning the Eagles would have crushed your "watch the game tape of the teams that beat Dallas" narrative.....
Uh, because the Eagles didn't dominate us. We lost that game on utter stupidity.

The blueprint is let Dallas committ drive killing penalties that result in 3 TDs.

Dak Prescott on if the Cowboys have figured out why their performances have been so different on the road compared to at home: “No. We haven’t. I don’t know if there is anything concrete, honestly. A lot of different aspects that go hand in hand, that go together. Different things you could say, maybe it’s this, maybe it’s that. At the end of the day, type of guy I am, conversations we have, they are all going to be excuses. We’ve just got to come out with the energy and maintain it throughout the game, regardless of the score, regardless if we’re down, the belief, the emotional discipline, maturity and competitiveness to not blink and enjoy when it’s you against the world. So, no.”

After the Cowboys lost 30-16 to the Broncos in 2021, then Denver DC Vic Fangio said: “Teams just haven’t played (Dallas) the right way.” With Fangio now the DC in Miami, Prescott was asked about Fangio having the blueprint for beating the Cowboys. “In 2021 maybe. I don’t think that blueprint’s gonna hold up.”

With this team..it's lack of mental toughness on the road is its biggest problem and has been for awhile.

Knowing this team probably.

QBs have to be patient vs Fangio's scheme. 2 high safety is only the beginning. He's definitely known for taking away the long ball.

Pre-snap reads are notoriously difficult, but critical.

He flips to zone more often than not and that has given us some issues.

It's hard to compare this year because we've played so many awful pass defenses. The Bills were much better than the terrible ones that Philly , Washington, LAC and some others put out there.
Miami is decent too.

Shell-two safeties deep....Blueprint...McCarthy's offense is not that hard to figure out. He was doing a great job when he had Dak throwing short and quick. Now it's back to Cee Dee-Cee Dee...How hard is that to defend consistently-especially if you have a good corner. Same with defense. Man to man versus a zone making it harder for the quarterback to attack the field.

1) he was a part-time consultant for Philly last year, not the DC
2) we played Philly twice last year anyway
Dak didn’t play the first game. The question was Dak against Fangio.

Yeah he is technically 1-1 but people act like he’s the 0-6

I chuckle at this "blueprint" stuff. First the Cardinals had the blueprint for the Dallas defense. Then the 49ers had the blueprint for the Dallas offense. Then apparently the Bills have the blueprint for both. And now so does Fangio.

And we still have gone over two years since the Cowboys have lost consecutive games.

This is a week-to-week league. Dallas could play Buffalo again and blow them out this time. Sometimes the gameplan sucks, or the execution, or both.

Yea....That about summed last Sunday's game up.

you guys are so unreasonable. How you do expect a Dak led offense to beat Miami. Miami is a good team. It's hard to beat good teams. I mean, if it was easy to beat good teams then a Dak led team would score a bunch of points like he does against bad teams. You can't expect our QB to raise his level of play against stiffer competition. That's not possible or realistic in sports. It's incumbent on our defense to shut out our opponents so that they can score 3 to 10 points and win against good teams. Good will overcome less good. Remember this.

I have had this game circled when the schedule came out as they were going to face Fangio's defense again. They have played other DC's that come from his coaching tree with inconsistent success. They had great success against the Jets defense, but struggled against the Cardinals to name a few.

When teams use that robber in coverage that takes away the middle of the field, Dak and the passing offense really struggles. We saw this against both the 49ers and the Bills.
Jets and Saleh have their own defensive philosophy. As for the so-called Fangio tree, it can be ignored. Guys who come from him and utilize his scheme don’t seem to be incredibly Successful. The Fangio system only works at a high level with Fangio. It’s kinda like Belicheck and how his assistants fail when they go elsewhere. Raheem Morris and the fired Brandon Staley are not match for the cowboys, but Fangio himself can be a major problem especially being the Godfather of the1/4 1/4 1/2 coverage he’s known for.

Disagree, yes, there are variations to each scheme, but they have the same principals. Generate pressure without the blitz, play shell coverage, keep everything in front of them, force QB's to make throws into tight windows. Saleh's defense has been terrific since he got there, they have played pretty well this season despite having nothing on offense.

Fangio was not the Philly DC last year
As someone mentioned I think they brought him in in some sort of consulting capacity specifically for his "ability to shut down the Cowboys offense." He did a good job too.. Held them to 40. Good stuff.

just turn around and hand the ball off early and often. Easy blueprint. Yes Fangio knows. Question is, will we have the desire to stop them and play our gaps? Make them 1 dimensional and pass it then that feeds into what DQ wants us to do.

They can't function well on the road because the have to go silent count and can't change the play, can't run motion, and can't yell "here we goooooo"
