Does Phil Mafah give King Henry vibes?

His '23 film looks a little better, but to compare him in any context to Henry is comical. The only comparison is they're both big RBs, the similarities end there.

I'd say he's probably a practice squadder, he's likely too slow to play at this level. Even if the OL makes a hole, it'll close before he gets through it. My guess is they'll pick up a cheap vet cut by somebody else or a cheap trade during camp who'll be the 3rd back, assuming Miles Sanders is as useless as he appears to be.
I think you pretty much nailed the player!

Only way Mafah makes the team is if he really out plays Leupke or Dallas decides to move on from him. As in a money difference thing.
But I can see it happening.

....I think Vaughn will get the axe. Leupke still serviceable body.

What I'm thinking., Shotty utilizing the thunder & lighting idea between Blue and Mafah. ..Will see

Let me remind everyone that most people thought Henry was going to flame out in the NFL. He has certainly earned the title King Henry and I agree he's 1 of 1 but let's give Mafah a chance. He doesn't have to become the King to be a very valuable addition.

Blue reminds me of a faster Barry Sanders.
Look I'm the biggest Jaydon Blue Guy on the planet but let's not go there can we stop and maybe you're just being sarcastic because this guy's calling Phil close to Henry but there's no way he's Barry Sanders...

He's definitely going to be Tony Pollard if he's used properly here but,

he has the same height weight speed and game given the right offense and offensive line is Jamyr Gibbs.. I mean that is his absolute ceiling and Jamyr Gibbs.
He is not Barry Sanders I know he plays for that team, but Barry Sanders was on another planet, I mean I've probably never seen a guy go full go in college and the pros almost without stopping and being pretty much the best running back.

I realized we had that debate for a long time around here about Emmett Smith but Emmett Smith was the best 3 down back the best overall prototypical NFL back but he was not Barry Sanders, we're talking about watching art in motion when you get a player like that that just insane moves he can make in small spaces with speed and everything else that goes with it..

I disagree stop making him a fullback he's not a full back I'd say it's the other way around hunter may have been a pet cat and not even used properly by the old coaching staff but we need a tough short yardage running back and possibly a full back as well but I don't care what you try to pigeonhole this guy he's not a full back just like Jayden Blues not a gadget back I mean people keep pigeonholed players because of possibly some narratives that started around draft day but I don't see it he's definitely not a full back..

Most likely you could utilize both but Hunter has not done anything yet and maybe possibly because of the old coaching staff but they didn't utilize him enough in the run game but I don't see all the touchdowns in the short yardage banging that we were told that Hunter could do hunters the one who's a tweener he's a hybrid half back full back running back but does he have a place on this team I don't know but like I said I say this the other way around..

If you really look at the running backs we have deuce Vaughn too much like Turpin he's probably gone you got Devante Williams and Sanders both of which are pretty solid every down backs but also both would be more utilized in the past game but that's also what Jayden Blues going to be done so there's going to be an overflow of players here that aren't going to make the team and I'd say it's more likely that that blue mafah and Hunter make it and only one of the other three....

But hey it's all speculation now we get to see this in training camp and preseason these are not players that get the take off preseason they're going to be working hard to keep their jobs so it should be fun to watch..

see who wants it more..

I can make him to be in competition as that role if I want to.
He is very close to the same size as Luepke. And Luepke was not used as a full blown FB. They used DT'S and TE's as FB's before.
He will be given the opportunity to compete with him.
He was not draft to compete with Blue. Possibly compete against Williams or Sanders, but I do not see its that way.

Luepke may not have been used right, or maybe he was more than fans think. He may still be fighting for a roster spot.

There are only two scenarios here.

1) I'm a complete and total moron.
2) Its sarcasm and you typed a whole bunch of nothing due to your inability to recognize it.

Perception is everything though, and I 100% support your take.

And I'm pretty sure I covered that in my first sentence did you see it I mean I pretty much wrote you you might be being a bit sarcastic...

LMAO No you can't

it's not your team you have nothing to do with the team you have no control over the team you don't share the view with the coaches;

because I'm telling you they're not turning PM into a fullback or Hunter into a Big RB,

book it. save the receipts...

we'll see they're either keeping hunter or they're not going to use many fullbacks you remember Kellen Moore I sure remember some dude that was using hback's tight ends and guards and tackles for goal line fullbacks . in this day and a full backs are not necessary to take roster spot on most offnses,

so yeah if you wanted to use a running back at occasion to use as a blocker for someone like blue that's normal too in a 2 back set the bigger dude usually going to block ,unless he's the up guy on a short yardage and maybe they hand it to him on a quick handoff but he's not going to be a full back ,

that's not why he's here he's not as big as a traditional full back, hunter's a full back he's not goingnbe a running back so get your ducks in order because I don't care what you think you can make somebody in competition for it it doesn't matter what you think or do or say because you're not the team I don't see them doing that at all not even in Craziest scenario.

So yes I can't wait till preseason games and we're heading into game one in September against Philly so we know what's going on speculation can get old and dry.

You would lol, but it's actually a fair comparison.

Here's Scarbrough's pros and cons before we drafted him:

Pros

  • Big, powerful, battering ram of a running back.
  • Decent speed in the open field.
  • Reliable pass protector.
  • Shows some ability as a pass catcher.
  • Good patience to set up his blocks.
  • Runs behind his pads and almost always falls forwards to pick up extra yardage
  • Surprisingly “low milage”. Fewer than 300 carries in 3 years at Alabama.

Cons

  • Needs a “runway” to get up to speed.
  • Not terribly quick in and out of his cuts, and can’t be creative behind the line of scrimmage.
  • Doesn’t have the acceleration to bounce runs outside or get the edge if an off-tackle run isn’t blocked well.
  • Significant injury history. Medical reports will be vital.

Some fans thought a lot of Scarbrough when we drafted him, just like some do with Mafah. Hopefully, the ending turns out better.
Same player.
