Can you, or somebody else, explain how his contract works. The only thing I understand is if we cut him then he keeps his whole signing bonus but we're not responsible for his base salary. So if we keep him for the 10 week suspension then we get reimbursed for the prorated SB and don't pay him a dime of badoers involved or if that is correct. If someone knows the situation more can you post it?

You pretty much have it.....he loses 10/17ths of his base salary and signing bonus but we only get it rebated weekly while he is suspended...he also won't get roster bonuses that add another 2m if he played all 16 games...but by not showing for camp he will now get fined daily against the rest of his pay and signing bonus....

It only boils down to about 300k difference...I would just cut him now and avoid the possibility of him getting injured at camp and then he would get his full salary and bonus minus the suspension amounts

While you can probably think of a number of ways we should spend 2.5 million, some of which probably make sense, I don't think the team needs to that 2.5 million now, therefore, it makes more sense to wait
