He plays in every defense, and on special teams... are we wearing him out by the 4th quarter? He is a relatively large man to be running that much in a game. Thoughts?

He's not very big, and I would assume a fit athlete shouldn't have much of a problem with it.

It's not like they're back there running marathons.

Go to a game and see how much time they have to just stand around. TV timeouts are a pain to sit through.

I think he's fine. One thing Parcells keeps track of his how many plays a player plays during the game so I'm sure he's not overworking Roy.

Also, instead of starting a new thread. I thought I'd just post this here. Sorry if this hijacks your thread man.

Did anyone notice that Roy Williams was wearing what appeared to be a shoulder strap against the Lions? Notice the black strap going around his upper arm in the pic below.

Seems the speculation of his shoulder being hurt was right.

Roy has an injury, Brad Sham was talking about players who are hurting and specifically mentioned Roy (that was a couple of weeks ago)

This could explain why he has been etting up on his hits where he would usually drop a shoulder.

Great example of this is when he hurt Anthony Henry :laugh2:

Did it again this week but I forgot who he "hit."

I'm not sure if it would improve his stamina but knocking off 10-15 lbs sure could help his coverage skills.

if that's the case, he can try losing some weight....that ain't all muscle; anyone can see that.

Oh ok...couldn't see it before beacause I was on a laptop (distorted color unless you're looking at the screen in the perfect angle). I just thought it was his skin.

So what is that?

Ha Ha! Good one...
But that is kind of where I am going with this. The DL has a rotation... The LB's have a rotation... The CB's are almost always in (but not on special teams), but they generally only have one assignment or zone. as far as I know, no one is rotating with Roy, and he has to cover a lot of field + be a hit machine...

Thought the same thing this past weekend. Even BP admits he's heavier than the avg. safety. At a minimum, he should be on the sidelines for special teams, not doing those 60 yard sprints 5-6 times a game.

Honestly, I've never thought about that. Great point. Wonder how much the fatigue factor is involved especially towards the end of the season.
