alter our defensive draft plans?

Pass rusher seems to be good with him and Lawrence and the rotation.

Is the DL solid going forward to where it is not a big need?

Landry has been mentioned but don't think he will be there at 19.

Comments?

DE is solid and descent rotation of DT with Crawford and Irving and Collins. Will likely add a DT in higher rounds. Hoping for a monster in the middle even though Marinelli don’t want one.

If a top Lber is there close to 19.

that would be interesting.

A Lber also would have to be a good pass rusher too for us to take him.

I suppose you can never have to many pass rushers, but at some point these guys need to get on the field. Taco needs his snaps. I sort of feel the same way about our corners.

I think we need a defensive lineman period.

I will say I am surprised how many people have forgotten about Datone Jones. I think he is going to be part of the rotation. He looked good last year and really wants to be in Dallas and is a team first guy. I think jones and ealy are both going to help and both can play up and down the line.

The DC.com guys and the fan guys never mention him when they talk about the defensive line but always mention ash and neal. I think jones makes this team over both of them.

Dallas still needs a defensive lineman who can help right away however.

Not really.

Although as well as being a rotational DE, I'd expect to see him take some snaps on passing downs at DT occasionally.

Good call. Jones is a forgotten former first round draft pick.

And he definitely flashed late last year.

He's not a starter, but both he and Ealy can be key rotational pieces.

I agree with you. I'll be surprised if they end up taking a defensive end.

Look at the list ( grading for yourselves):
  • Lawrence
  • Charlton
  • Ealy
  • Crawford
  • Tapper
  • Jones
  • Gregory
A lot of options there, to whatever degree one wants to factor them in. In terms of team needs, I see much bigger elsewhere.

I think it would have made us look at that UTSA kid a bit more

I agree. Jones was very solid with his snaps he got last season. I'm really hoping for Vea in the first and that gives us plenty of options on the DL. Plus we could keep Irving or let him go next season, we would have the leverage. Ash and Neal have to really impress to make the roster because I think Gregory and Tapper will take the backup end spots and that allows Crawford to slide inside.

It will be very interesting how this draft plays out

I agree with you. The only way I see us taking a DE is if a top rated end falls and the value is just too good to pass up. That being said plenty of talent in this draft to fix holes in the team

Kony signed a 1 year deal for $1.25M.

Would he alter your draft process? If the answer is yes, we need to have a talk.

DE we are in good shape but you can’t really have too many pass rushers
DT is the issue with the questions about Irving

I agree would be shocked if this isn't addressed until Saturday or at all.
