Does the NFL have a policy for delusion?

This is not sarcasm. It’s a serious question. What if anything can the NFL do if one of its owners becomes delusional? Bonkers? Out of touch with reality and a potential embarrassment for not only the team they own, but for the league as well. I wonder if a policy exists.

After watching that embarrassing, rambling and delusional post game presser by Jerry Jones in which he said he will be looking for this Garrett-led team to go on a winning streak all the way to the super bowl, I wondered if the guy is even sane. He looked not only old, but also reminded me of a latter day Al Davis. Looking out of touch yet defiant, even foolish.

The best thing a strong NFL GM should have done in that moment was to say very little. Look upset but composed. Make a 10 second statement. No elaboration to any question. Leave. The less said, the better it is for everyone in that locker room. A real leader is more worried about what his coaches and players are dealing with right now than his long winded press conference answers.

So you want to help your team Jerry? Shut the hell up for a change. What you say to the media means nothing to anyone but...you.

Only a self important, isolated, non-accountable fool talks like what I heard Jerry say today about his reeling team. And I also sadly assume the NFL can’t help an idiot owner from destroying his team with his own verbal foolishness. Again...just wondering if the NFL could rescue us from this fool.

Maybe they should. First, Jerry throws the coaches under the bus, and then gives them a hug.

No but Stephen and the family sure can step in and intervene. Commit him, or take control away.

The NFL tolerated Al Davis and his craziness for years. The only thing would force the NFL's hand on Jerry is a racial or sexist incident.

I just wish we could make a bet with Jerry as fans. If Dallas wins the Super Bowl this season? He can raise ticket prices 100 percent. If Dallas doesn't get to a Super Bowl this year? Much less win one. Jerry must sale the team and NEVER come within 10 miles of the stadium or any other Dallas Cowboy facility for the remainder of his life. I'd take this bet today if I could.
