I keep reading how the Best Offensive Line in the NFL got abused vs. the Giants Blah blah blah. Olivier Vernon definitely played well and made some guys look bad on certain plays which caused holding penalties. I don't feel it was as bad as people are making this out to be but that is my opinion. I felt the pass protection was very good and cmon the box was stacked all game long but ok let's for the sake of argument say they got abused.
HOW DO THEY RESPOND?
Did this position group need a game like that as sort of a wakeup call. Does this line put a boulder on the shoulder now and go out angry with a point to prove and take it all out of the Commanders this week MAN I HOPE SO!
This could work out to be the perfect storm!
Commanders run defense + Alfred Morris return + Angry Offensive Line hell bent on revenge + Zeke is probably really angry about his performance and wants to prove something = This could turn out to be one hell of a running clinic- I for one hope Morris gets around 15 -20 carries and gets to put it to his old team !
I think what we saw is as good as it gets.
We have built too much upon the OL as our key to everything from
controlling the clock..
to making Zeke Superman
To helping the defense by resting them..
to suggesting that we have the greatest rushing attack in the NFL..
this is all certainly not true..
it's perception not grounded in reality.
We have to include the rest of the team to win..
Depending on the OL to be our calling card and not demanding enough from the rest of the team means failure.
Garrett is the focal point of this team..and needs to be the one getting angry.
Not the OL.
