Does the Pickens move remind anyone of T.O. and Parcels?

parcels wanted TO and little Marty wanted Pickens, you're pulling a Clarence Hill, trying to start a non story

This is going to be the media narrative. Remember they're the who started the culture crap
having watched that particular circus and especially the press conference, I remember the look on BP's face and the fact that TO said right to Jerry that he knew he had to live up to HIS expectations.
Either you have a convenient memory or you have not been around that long

I always saw the T.O. thing as a double edged sword situation. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Did Parcells foresee TO's me first persona eventually destroying team chemistry? Yes.

But if you take away T.O. from that small offensive window of success that Dallas had during that time, you ain't getting no where near the win totals with just Terry Glenn and Patrick Crayton.

Now I don't think Pickens is no where even close to the alfa WR1 that Owen's was, but I think the circumstances are similar to Parcells if we are to believe Schottenheimer's team and culture philosophy and Pickens eventual effect on upsetting that..

No, totally different comparisons. First of all Terrell Owen’s was probably the second best receiver at the time of the trade, had the TO persona, and was in his late 20s-early thirties. Pickens has been a good receiver for Pittsburgh that has the prime part of his career and front of him. Pickens is like a poor man’s Randy Moss, play wise and personality. The kid is just moody.

Lets wait and see what shotty says about it?
I need to research pickens more to have a opinion.
But he could be the #2 that the team needed.

Shotty coached pickens in college someone said, so maybe he wanted him?

Other than the revolving quarterback door that Bill Parcells had I still can’t believe Randall Cunningham played quarterback for the Cowboys
Parcells inherited a team that had no talent. Literally no talent. I mean you want to talk about a bare cupboard, Parcells took over a franchise where the cupboard itself was sold and all that was left was some old crumbs.

Parcels was a no nonsense old school HC trying to install a new, disciplined culture into this team.
Jerry the GM decided to bring in a diva WR into the locker room with T.O.

Now is history repeating itself ?
We have a HC wanting to instill a new culture and
Boom, we got a diva WR with a history of issues.

Thoughts?
No. I don't think Pickens can fit into TO's jock...

My thoughts are that you are totally ignorant as to how good a deal this is and how good the offseason has been. You say that they didn't sign any notable free agents when you have no idea how good any of the players are. Pickens is better than any free agent that was available this year and you want to bad mouth the team.

This may be their best offseason ever.

I can definitely see it, though T.O was a one WR. I'm curious to see what Pickens does though. I think he and Lamb should be an amazing duo.

Absolutely popped into my head. Let’s hope Schotty doesn’t refer to him as “the player”…
