does this coaching staff trust these CBs?

And if they do not...that is an indictment on Jones...who is paying major coin for this secondary

Obviously not. Or maybe Wade and Brian are just dumb.

15 Yards off the receiver.. give me a break. And these guys would start back pedaling before the ball was even snapped

If I remember correctly, we played a lot more man to man last game. I'm guessing the primary reason we didn't play more man to man in this game is because McNabb is a threat to run and if everyone has their back turned to him, he'll eat you for breakfast.

It's gonna be bad if we start losing. I already saw PacMan barking at the sidelines several times after the Eagles picked up another 7 yards underneath.

Let 'em play, Wade.

It has nothing to do with the fact that they don't trust their CBs. The Cowboys play off the receivers as part of Wade's overall defensive philosophy. They need to change that design fast.

We rarely played Man 2 man. It was pure soft zone that night. We played man probably only 5 snaps

Our strength on defense clearly lies in the secondary, especially at CB. Hopefully we start mixing in more man defense, or at least a mix of man and zone. Let Ware and Ellis rush the passer and have our corners earn that money.

Have to agree with the man thing; this zone coupled with a lack of push is not going to get it done long-term. I could care less about the numbers, but you don't want to have to win like this on a consistent basis.

The same thing happened against the Skins and Green Bay last year, when Aaron Glenn was inserted into the game. If you notice, those games came down to the wire. The Skins weren't playing well at that time, and with the Packers, they were clearly on the ropes until Favre went out.

will this Defense ever step up and play to it's potential?

IF it does, the sky is the limit. I must say, for Wade being a Mr Fix It, it sure seems a lot is still broken on D. I mean we can't line up pro bowlers at every position. Sooner or later, things have to click on defense. With a healthy TNew and Jones, I don't see why we don't mix in more man to man and get after the QB.

Wade and Stewart are holding them back.

We don't have any Reeves back in the secondary no more.

Why don't we start manning up making it hard for the receivers to get a clean release? Why does Wade and Stewart insist on letting the opposing offense dictate how they play us instead of the defense dictate how the other teams offense plays? This passive defense is sickening.

Amazing the difference between the offensive play-calling and the defensive play-calling.... One dictates, the other plays passive...

You have Newman who is one of, if not, the best man-to-man corner in the league. Jenkins is potentially the best man-to-man cover coming out college. You have Pac-man who also covers one-on-one. And your playing this far off? If your defense is loaded like you claim it is, then why are you allowing the offenses to dictate play?

You claim that your defense is predicated on creating pressure up front, but you just run 3 or 4 straight, without mixing it up?

I was BEGGING for tight man coverage allll night. That was so frustrating how easily the eagles moved the ball at times.

Exactly and its none of the players faults. The coaching on the defensive side of the ball is terrible. Playing into the weaknesses of the players?

Sad Sad Sad

I can see Henry playing zone but come on Newman, Pac and Jenkins? Please give me a break
