Does this stretch or good games make you consider Rico Dowdle a viable option to start 2025?

Let's see what he does in the next 4 games.

These last two games he was really good, but the competition was pretty awful.

PS. Our run game is better then our pass game now. Therefore run the damn ball.

I’d bet he walks in free agency. At this pace he is going to get starter money. The Cowboys seem unlikely to pay him starter money….maybe they tag him for a year?

I like Rico. attacks the hole. has a little wiggle. Nobody is going to mistake him for Barkley, but he is a nifty runner. He is a good platoon member, but not the prototypical workhorse back.

He's a JAG.

Let him test free agency with the caveat that we tell him we will match or beat offers he gets.

We will then resign him for the veteran minimum when no one offers.

Instead Jerry will overpay to keep Troy Hambrick 2025 version.

Used to be that the run game set up the pass, with play action, now the pass play sets up the run. A better OL and pass game and Rico will be good, but will need partner better than Zeke. If we expect him to be a bellcow......not gonna happen, he's already proven that.

He is by far the best we have, which is what it is. Given Jerral's propensity to overrate players I think he'll overlook the RB position thinking he has "his guy."

My concern was the line more than Rico….we could have had Henry but would he be successful with this line earlier in the year? Our line play was bad, no matter the back. If that not improved consistently next year, may not matter who the back is. Question is can we get a back in round 3 that would work and take another position in 1 and 2, or get Jeanty if hes there and risk the bad line? Need to see what these linemen got the last few games. Maybe Rico get another couple 100yrd games

He's the best back on the team right now. Would like to sign him cheap and get another legit guy so they are interchangeable. It is a crime the "powers at be" were trying to "make Zeke famous again" over Rico earlier in the season.

Rico isn’t a homerun threat. His longest run this season was 27 yards on Monday Night. He doesn’t scare anyone. He’ll likely be part of the rotation next season but we need a big play threat as our feature back.

Rico has great front line vision though. He can get to the second level. Just has trouble avoiding that tackle. Our other backs run into the backs of our Olinemen. Definitely would like to have a home run hitter like you mentioned.

Rico has pretty much assured himself of being back next season. He’s developed into a better than average back, however we need a big play threat, not only as a runner but as a receiver. A game changer. Easier said than done especially when we don’t want to spend a lot of money in free agency. We’ll see what’s available during the offseason and in the draft.
