There are different kinds of confidence.

There's confidence in one's self but I am talking about confidence in other parts of the team. Does the team have a confidence issue in the QB, lead RB, OL, WR's to make the critical catches, offense in general from the defense, OC, secondary and coaching?

They will see that film and they will see batted balls, dropped passes, poor pass and run blocking, very poor 3rd down execution on both side of the ball and to top that off, comments from some about the officiating which is nothing more than excuse making.

If there is this confidence challenge, when to address it? Think they can coast through Philly and plan on getting that back in the first playoff game?

How many players or units are playing at a playoff level? Let's forget that WFT game and just focus on the last game. How many stood out to you?

If this team's problems are fixable, that starts Saturday night, not next weekend.

Some are concerned about injuries before the playoffs. Why? If they play poorly in Philly after doing that at home, what difference does that make?

The playoff run, if there is to be one, starts in Philly this Saturday night. Because if you think a team playing like they did and even allowing that to be laid on the officials can lose in Philly and do anything, you are not optimistic, you are wishful thinking.

When players are allowed to even insinuate it is about the officiating, they have already lost. Those players need a long hard look in the mirror first.

When you have a QB who can't get you the ball despite you being only a few yards away wide open, or your coach can't time manage, then yea I would have low confidence. The positive side is we do have talent and we can compete against the big boys, we just need to just hope were hitting on all cylinders and that is what is going to determine whether we go deep or one and out, consistency.

i dont get it coach, are u saying they are over or underconfident??:D
I think it is an ego problem and that makes them overconfident.
They think they are so good, all they have to do is show up and play.

I don't know about the whole team, but the offense sure seems to.

That is part of it but I think they lack confidence in other parts of the team.

..nope CC, they have a run problem. They have TE's that cant block or put in schemes where they dont belong. Add no extra tackles to aid the problem.

They are loading 8 in the box, Dallas doesn't challenge the situation or lack confidence to do so. Dak checks out, and throws short.

They cant counter-punch with just passing. We're in deep $hit if MM cant fix this pronto.

This team might be best chance to go deep, will be shame to not get advantage from it.

They have a discipline (holding and offsides) problem and definitely need to end their crush on screen passes.

Other than that we're fine. Oh and that kicker needs to score his freaking points!

/End thread.

Seems to me we have a motivation problem. Last season all we heard about was the lack of effort in games. When we were steamrolling this year at 6-1 we decided not to show up for Denver and got embarrassed. We looked flat against the Cardinals last week. We started the game with no energy. This team has trouble getting up for games. For the past two decades the Cowboys have been up and down lacking consistency. The commitment to being the best team you can be doesn’t seem to be there with the Cowboys.

I think it's simpler than that. I think Jerry struck a deal with the devil in 1990 to get three SBs and now the franchise has to suffer and be underachievers until Jerry pays the devil with his soul.

this team is playing scared. this team is playing not to lose. not to mess up instead of going out and making plays....the easiest way to mess up is to worry about messing up and playing not to...

we had plenty of opportunities in this game. we messed them up not because AZ played and did something. there certainly were plays AZ played well. that's what happens when you play against a good team. they make some plays. we make some plays. but the problem was they made some plays. we didn't make a few plays we had opportunity to do so. Zeke drop. pollard drop. over thrown passes. schultz drop. stupid penalties. all in the late 3rd and 4th quarter during crucial times of the game. we gave up 44 yards on the last drives with 41 coming to the outside.....we knew they would run. we knew it was coming. we didn't stop it....that's 44 yards on a single drive where we knew the plays...

this loss was on us beating ourselves because that was our mind set. we will not win with this mindset....we have to play with a reckless abandon that we will take this from you because we can and more sense of urgency that just wasn't there

I think Dak has a confidence problem. Even when he talks he sounds like he is trying to convince himself. But watch him play and he seems hesitant to make the deep throws or even run the ball. He needs to commit in his mind knowing he is going to be successful.

That all has to come from MM and kellen , and unless they are promoting that mindset and type of play, it wont happen.

They are missing the awesome mottos from Garrett.

Finish the Fight
Hurl my Italian Sub
etc..

ok who lacks confidence in who??
The D may lack confidence in the O and the RB's in the OL. If the QB gets as many batted balls in this game, you can add him to the list. He got lucky, those often get picked. Of he can't see well enough, get outside the pocket. Brees, Murray and Wilson, the shortest QB's in the last 15 years, don't get as many batted. The question is what did Vance Joseph see on film for his guys to get that many batted?

What we are not privy to is what they know about each other because they see the films, hear the discussions and they practice against each other.

They have an execution problem... Possibly even a couple of overhyped players.

They have a sloppy and undisciplined problem.. They can’t get unity for some reason. The O-Line has plenty of talent but no unity. They hold when they don’t need to. The OC is calling vanilla plays with no intention of running the ball any where except up the middle. Seems if they go outside the center they can get yards. I am personally hoping it’s a trick and we unleash our running game in the playoffs. Or our RBs are just badly injured and playing at 60%.. But if so I think we would have brought in others..

It’s because he don’t want to move. He was dang lucky but so was there qb cause we batted one to. Daks first pass was close to being picked and that set the tone. He was all over the place. Threw low to Cooper on a pass that could have been a bigger play. Weird how he can be so on in one game and off the next..
