There are different kinds of confidence.
There's confidence in one's self but I am talking about confidence in other parts of the team. Does the team have a confidence issue in the QB, lead RB, OL, WR's to make the critical catches, offense in general from the defense, OC, secondary and coaching?
They will see that film and they will see batted balls, dropped passes, poor pass and run blocking, very poor 3rd down execution on both side of the ball and to top that off, comments from some about the officiating which is nothing more than excuse making.
If there is this confidence challenge, when to address it? Think they can coast through Philly and plan on getting that back in the first playoff game?
How many players or units are playing at a playoff level? Let's forget that WFT game and just focus on the last game. How many stood out to you?
If this team's problems are fixable, that starts Saturday night, not next weekend.
Some are concerned about injuries before the playoffs. Why? If they play poorly in Philly after doing that at home, what difference does that make?
The playoff run, if there is to be one, starts in Philly this Saturday night. Because if you think a team playing like they did and even allowing that to be laid on the officials can lose in Philly and do anything, you are not optimistic, you are wishful thinking.
When players are allowed to even insinuate it is about the officiating, they have already lost. Those players need a long hard look in the mirror first.
